Bab 43: The Girl

In the split second between Faye kicking out his legs from underneath and his head cracking against the ground, Kai deployed his tail, barely escaping disaster.

"I hope you didn't actually need that Beast trait right now." She said before grabbing his tail and throwing him to the wall.

Flying through the air at the speed of light, Kai crashed into the wall with a big bang. Somehow, the wall didn't crumble. In fact, there wasn't even a dent. It was as if Kai had slammed into a completely invulnerable object created only to cause pain.

Kai stared up at the pitch-black expanse of the tower, counting the black specks that dotted his vision. His chest moved slowly as he struggled to breathe. Creating a mental image of Faye in his mind he made a promise to himself to get her back.

'These teachers are insane... this isn't even a school, it's a damned slaughterhouse!'

The next second he knew she had pulled him back onto his feet even though he couldn't see anything.
