A spiritual light that was imperceptible to mortals awoke William from his slumber.
"Wh... what?"
William stumbled, falling on his bedroom floor, facing the ceiling.
Suddenly, whatever light was in his room seemed to condense and enter William's eye.
A soundless scream escaped from his lips.
The pain was beyond what mere words could describe.
Suddenly...
Ring... ring...
"Activating the Saiyan system."
"Designated user identified."
"User: William Khorn Parker."
"Species: Saiyan."
"Saiyan?"
"Age: 15."
"Bloodline locked."
"Bloodline?"
"Level 1."
"Health: 10/10."
"Ki: 3/3."
"Str: 3."
"Dex: 4."
"Con: 2."
"Int: 2."
"Wis: 1."
"Cha: 2."
"Luck: 4."
"Such low stats," Will grumbled.
"Inventory: 0/10 (upgradeable through external means)."
"Quest: 1000 push-ups, 1000 sit-ups, 1000 squats, 1000."
"Completion: 0%."
"Store: locked."
A message from The One: What you do with this gift is up to you!
The system blinked a few more times before it settled and finally ceased.
William looked blankly at the roof, his head pulsing with the remnants of the pain he was experiencing prior to this.
Soon, he found the strength to rise from his position and go clean himself.
As he was looking in the bathroom mirror, he looked in the upper right corner of his vision and mentally "clicked" on the prompt.
"Welcome, user."
The words flashed momentarily before fading.
William tried touching the words, but they weren't physical by any means, and he simply passed through.
"System AI: Please complete the quest to unlock further functions."
William sighed. "I guess I'm going to the gym later, but what's this about being a Saiyan?"
His thoughts began to drift when he heard a knock on his bedroom door.
Knock, knock.
"William? Are you ready? You are supposed to go to the lab with me!"
William facepalmed. "I did sort of forget, didn't I?"
William rushed to the door and told Peter that he would be ready in a few minutes.
A few minutes passed...
The two arrived at the bus stop just in time to catch the bus door from closing.
The bus driver always seemed to have it out for Peter, and it had been getting on my nerves for years.
Will's fist tightened.
Peter seemed to notice the flash of anger his brother produced and hurried him to the seat with an uncomfortable smile plastered on his face.
"Thanks, lil' brother," Will said before elbowing Peter to get his attention.
"Hey, what?" Peter asked.
Will whispered so as not to cause a scene. "Your fly is open."
Will chuckled lightly.
Peter panicked before catching himself and fixing his zipper.
"Good thing I caught you before a certain someone did," Will said.
He looked over and saw Mary Jane sitting with her boyfriend.
Peter blushed and sat down next to Will, eager to get moving.
The bus soon arrived at the labs. Will and Peter were both excited for different reasons.
"I can't wait. I heard Dr. Connor is making an appearance, and I'd love to run a few things by him!" Peter said.
"I'm more excited for the animals themselves. I doubt they get a lot of attention beyond the experiments," William replied.
As the two walked up the steps, suddenly a large wad of paper hit the back of Peter's head, and they could hear the distinct sound of laughter from an asshole and his two backup dancers.
Will's emotions flared, and before Peter could stop him, Will was already face to face with Flash, looking to throw down.
Flash had a hint of panic in his eyes for a moment before he realized that he had backup, and soon he was pushing back up against Will, practically begging him to make a move.
"What exactly is your problem with Peter, Flash? Is it jealousy over him being smarter than you, or is it rage over that..." Will looked down. "Baby meat in your pants?"
Rage coursed visibly through Flash's eyes.
His friends, however, knew very well that they couldn't get in another school fight, so they grabbed an arm each of their leader and did their best to calm him down.
"Not here, Flash, too many eyes!" Lackey #1 said.
"Yeah, let's get 'em later," Lackey #2 said, looking deliciously at Will.
"WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?"
An authoritative voice soon rang out, drowning out all other noise.
The teacher walked up, disappointment being the only visible emotion.
Mr. Allen had always been a fair teacher, if a little too easy on Flash and his friends.
"GET INSIDE, ALL OF YOU," Mr. Allen whisper-yelled.
He did his absolute best to catch his breath and calm down.
"We are guests here, and you are all very much going to be seeing me after class. Do you understand me?" Mr. Allen said.
Flash scoffed. "We clearly haven't done anything to warrant any punishment," he said, looking at Will and muttering under his breath, "yet."
"ENOUGH! Get inside," Mr. Allen said, a vein visibly bulging on his forehead.
The four walked in under the supervision of the chaperoning teacher and proceeded to split up to look around inside.
Will walked around the animal exhibits, his fury still at dangerous levels.
Soon, he was met with the ape exhibit.
The apes that were loud a moment ago suddenly went dead silent, a silence that would creep most people out. But seeing as how no one else was currently looking at the apes, it went unnoticed.
Will froze.
Looking up from the floor, he noticed the apes practically ogling him in wonder.
A very noticeably larger ape suddenly roared and charged at the plexiglass.
"Crack!"
Spider webbing cracks formed in the glass as alarms suddenly blared.
The ape smashed once more, and the glass collapsed over on itself.
The ape growled, pulling the shards out of his abnormally large fists.
DING... Survival Quest activated!!
Quest objective 1: Survive!!! Side quest: Deal 10% damage to the ape.
Difficulty: F
Time until help arrives: 3:00
Inside Will's head:
My legs are shaking... My heart is racing... Sweat forms on my forehead...
I should be scared, but... why am I weirdly excited?
The ape lunged...
the saiyans in this universe do not have tails "I figured it would be to easy a weakness to exploit"
they are still apes in nature but much closer to their universe 6 counterparts
