Victor Stone was an energetic boy who loved sports, dreaming of becoming a professional football player.
Both of his parents were top-tier researchers in a prestigious laboratory, affording him a privileged upbringing.
Victor father, Silas Stone, was deeply engrossed in his work and rarely showed affection for his son. However, his mother, Elinore Betty, made up for this shortfall by showering Victor with care and attention.
When Silas was consumed by his research, Elinore provided the nurturing environment Victor needed. Unfortunately, this balance was shattered when Elinore suddenly fell ill.
Silas used alien technology to extend Elinore life, but she succumbed to her illness a decade later.
By this time, Victor had become a high schooler and a star player on the school football team.
The loss of his mother caused a significant rift between Victor and Silas.
Grieving for his wife, Silas chose to bury himself in work, continuing his research on alien technology.
Victor, on the other hand, reflected on their strained relationship and decided to mend it by giving Silas tickets to one of his games.
But to his disappointment, Silas never attended a single game, not even the championship where Victor achieved victory.
Frustrated, Victor decided to confront his father one last time.
At STAR Labs, where Silas worked, Victor finally faced him.
Silas explained that his work wasn't solely driven by grief over Elinore death but also by the looming threats Earth faced. Superhumans and even aliens posed a danger to the planet, and his experiments with alien technology were far more critical than attending Victor games.
Hearing this, Victor felt disheartened and was about to leave.
Suddenly, an explosion rocked the lab.
The blast was caused by the "Mother Box" from Apokolips, an artifact Silas had been researching.
Victor was mortally injured.
Having already endured the loss of his wife, Silas refused to let another tragedy strike. He took Victor to the Red Room Laboratory.
Using the alien technology collected at the lab, nanobots replaced Victor failing body parts, saving his life by reconstructing him.
During the process, the Mother Box and the advanced technology from the Red Room fused with Victor.
When he opened his eyes, he was confronted by his new form—a cybernetic body made of metal.
Victor froze in disbelief.
He had no choice but to face the truth: he was now a cyborg, half-human and half-machine.
...
Thanks to special effects guru Quentin Beck, the visuals in the movie felt astonishingly real.
The image of "Cyborg" unfolded before the audience, vivid and breathtaking.
Sitting in the best viewing section, Tony Stark squinted his eyes.
The imagery sparked ideas in his mind.
It reminded him of the powered armor used by Batman.
The concept of a half-human, half-machine cyborg struck a chord, bearing an uncanny resemblance to his own situation.
Touching his chest, where his mechanical heart served as both his lifeline and his armor power source, Tony fell silent, his curiosity piqued. He kept his eyes glued to the screen, eager to see where the story would go next.
...
After becoming a cyborg, Victor Stone gained numerous extraordinary abilities.
He possessed superhuman strength, endurance, and resilience.
With most of his body replaced by machinery, he could fly using jet propulsion and transform his body into various weapons.
Most importantly, Victor brain had been upgraded into a quantum computer, keeping him in constant synchronization with the internet.
However, this upgrade came with severe drawbacks. His cybernetic brain subjected him to relentless information overload, placing immense pressure on his psyche.
To cope with this, Victor developed a computer program to help him focus.
He called this program "Grid."
The story progressed further.
Grid original task was to collect and process Victor daily data. However, over time, it developed self-awareness, becoming a fully independent artificial intelligence.
Grid believed it represented the machine half of Cyborg, while Victor embodied the human half. To truly experience human emotions, Grid became convinced it needed to eliminate Victor.
Obsessed with attaining human emotions, Grid betrayed Victor, forcibly stripping away the cybernetic components from Victor body during one of his experiments.
At the critical moment, Silas rescued Victor, while Grid escaped into cyberspace via the internet.
As a highly advanced AI, Grid capabilities far exceeded those of 90% of researchers worldwide. Its only shortcomings were creativity and human emotion.
Nevertheless, with its current technology, Grid successfully built itself a powerful body.
Determined to stop the disaster he had inadvertently created, Victor chased Grid both in the real world and in cyberspace, engaging in an intense confrontation.
As expected, Victor not only destroyed the physical body Grid had constructed but also leveraged his upgraded, computer-like brain to defeat Grid entirely in the digital realm.
Grid was then imprisoned within the remnants of Victor old cybernetic body.
At the end of the film, Victor replaced his body with a new one, symbolizing a fresh start.
Meanwhile, Grid—the AI—was forever confined to Victor discarded mechanical components.
Afterward.
Victor was revealed to the public and given the moniker "Cyborg."
The movie concluded.
Post-Credits Scene.
While resting, Victor mind was plagued by recurring images, haunting him like a nightmare.
"Apokolips! Mother Box!"
"Darkseid!"
The screen went black, and then a pair of glowing crimson eyes emerged, radiating malevolence and fury.
Simultaneously, audio snippets of a conversation between Victor and Silas played in the background.
"During your recovery, we used extensive alien technology... The residual information in your mind comes from the very enemies that threaten Earth... Victor, do what you must!"
Suddenly, the screen lit up again.
In a laboratory, Batman appeared, finding a busy Cyborg.
"Victor, I don't think I need to introduce myself," Batman said.
Cyborg looked at the man, surprised, as if he hadn't expected Batman to appear before him.
"I'm forming a team to handle some emergencies," Batman continued. "I'm calling it… the Justice League!"
…
Shing!
The theater lights came on.
Everyone now knew the movie had officially ended.
Anton, along with the production team, took to the stage, creating a lively and harmonious atmosphere during the host interaction with them.
None of them noticed Tony Stark, seated in the best viewing section, deep in thought.
Artificial Intelligence!
Tony couldn't help but think of J.A.R.V.I.S.
Not that he doubted J.A.R.V.I.S.' loyalty, but the AI Grid in the movie reminded him of certain parallels to his own life.
Victor Stone, aka Cyborg, seemed to share some similarities with Tony—though Tony condition wasn't as extreme. He wasn't half-human, half-machine, but his "heart bypass" was certainly a unique solution.
Regardless, the movie had given Tony some ideas.
"I could add more restrictions to J.A.R.V.I.S.' permissions…"
Tony stroked his chin thoughtfully.
If Anton knew what Tony was thinking, he might wonder whether Ultron—Tony "half-son"—would still make an appearance.
