Bab 25: Chapter 28: Jinx or Blabber? Let's Fight First

Without giving Lin Feng and Kate a chance to say anything, Jinx immediately raised her fishbone cannon.
With a loud bang, a rocket was fired.
Lin Feng pressed the Z-type driver.
Or rather, he hadn't taken his hand off the button.
Time rewound ten seconds.

"Jinx!"

"Who let you in?!"

"Jinx!" Lin Feng had Kate toss away her weapon to show he meant no harm.
"Kate?!"

After an unknown number of rewinds, Lin Feng felt somewhat numb.
Each trial yielded little difference with Jinx.
If there was a difference, it was merely between her fishbone cannon and the boom-boom gun.
When Kate was present, she used the fishbone cannon, as if she wanted to grind Kate into dust.
When Kate wasn't around, she used the boom-boom gun, turning her targets into sieves before possibly interrogating any survivors.
No matter what he tried—changing clothes, hiding, greeting first, then appearing... no minor change affected Jinx's actions.
Like Doctor Strange negotiating with Dormammu, Jinx simply couldn't perceive the time rewinds, but Lin Feng felt utterly exhausted.
Until one time, a slip of the tongue from Lin Feng revealed a glimmer of opportunity.
"Blabber!"
This time, Lin Feng didn't call out Jinx's name but the name Blabber.

Lin Feng shouted again, this time having Kate hide first.
Jinx turned her head, momentarily stunned, as the familiar name slipped from the lips of an unfamiliar person.
"How did you...?"
"It's not important how I know; your sister is dying."
Responding quickly was the key first step, allowing him to say an additional sentence.
Even so, Jinx immediately aimed her boom-boom gun, ready to spin the Gatling's barrel.
But Lin Feng had already started moving, alongside Kate, who had changed into casual clothes.
"Kill me, and you'll never get any information about Vi!"
Lin Feng shouted as he and Kate ran toward their predetermined escape route.
That sentence successfully halted Jinx's finger on the trigger for a moment.
But just a moment; Jinx pulled the trigger.
*Rat-a-tat-tat!*
It wasn't the Gatling gun shooting blue flames, but the boom-boom gun's power surpassed any rifle in Piltover.
At that moment, Lin Feng reached the retreat point displayed on the map.
This was toward the restroom within the arcade.
The energy of the symbols flickered at his fingertips, filling the entire mechanical glove.
Lin Feng slammed down forcefully, instantly creating a large hole in the ground.
Zaun was notorious for shoddy construction, and this place was no exception.
Lin Feng and Kate jumped down, escaping through the underground pipes, bullets whizzing past them, yet causing no real harm.
As the two disappeared from Jinx's sight, she continued shooting for a while, emptying the remaining bullets from her gun.
Dust filled the arcade, permeated with the smell of gunpowder.
Jinx stared at the hole in the ground, frozen in place.
Her eyes were fixed, lost in thought.
A few seconds later, hurried footsteps sounded.
Reinforcements had arrived.
Jinx instantly aimed her gun at them, startling everyone behind her,
"Jinx, it's us! Don't shoot!"
Jinx took her time, slowly lowering her boom-boom gun.
Her expression was a mix of anger and savagery.
No one dared to breathe too loudly, silently praying Jinx wouldn't blame them.
But surprisingly, Jinx didn't inquire about responsibility,
"Who were those two just now? Inform Deyana and Singed to turn Zaun upside down until they find them!"
