Upon reopening the system panel, Leruro is surprised to see new options available this time.
The most noticeable addition is the task list:
**[Task: Convince the councilors on Judgment Day to regain your freedom]**
**[Task Reward: Ghost Shroud]**
**[Task Time Limit: 24 hours]**
**[Failure Penalty: None]**
With 24 hours, Leruro isn't in a rush. He scrolls down, discovering a new "Shop" option in the system.
When he opens it, he's stunned.
The shop is filled with items, things he could and couldn't have imagined, all available for purchase with gold coins:
- **Continental Hotel Temporary Stay: 2 coins/day**
- **Health Potion: 5 coins**
- **Professional Assassin Service: 10 coins**
- **Heart of Gold: 20 coins**
- **Storm Blade: 50 coins**
- **Dance of Death: 3000 coins**
- **Kryptonite: 0.5 coins/gram**
- **Vibranium: 1 coin/gram**
Leruro blinks, shocked that the Continental Hotel has even expanded to Piltover.
Now, if he ever faces danger, he can stay at the hotel for a few days, ensuring his safety. However, the daily rate of 2 coins is steep, and he currently only has 10 coins.
As for items like vibranium or kryptonite, Leruro doesn't even dare to look.
Just one gram costs 1 coin—Captain America's shield weighs at least 20 pounds, meaning over 20,000 coins would be required! Even if he completes this task every day, persuading Caitlyn until her ears are sore, it would take him over 2000 days.
But despite feeling disheartened, Leruro is also secretly excited. The system's shop is incredibly powerful; with enough coins, he could surely roam freely across the continent of Valoran!
However, for now, he decides to stay practical.
Leruro browses items priced within 10 coins, though few seem useful for his current needs.
Health Potion, at 5 coins per bottle, is not only affordable but resembles its in-game counterpart in both appearance and function, restoring stamina and healing some injuries. However, it isn't essential for his situation.
Leruro considers buying Heart of Gold.
Heart of Gold, also nicknamed "Turtle Shell" due to its appearance, was an old item removed from the game, and seeing its name here brings back memories.
In the game, Heart of Gold was a support item, and it serves a similar purpose in the system's shop: after purchasing it, Leruro would earn 1 coin per day, making it profitable after 20 days.
But he's still short by 10 coins.
With a sigh, Leruro decides to look for items that will help him on Judgment Day. He finally spots an item priced at exactly 10 coins, which catches his interest.
...
...
The next morning, Leruro wakes up naturally.
His body aches from the hard metal bed.
After some stretches, the discomfort gradually fades, and his magical power, depleted from the previous day, fully replenishes. This power, like natural energy, regenerates without external aid. Still, special supplements can restore it immediately—such as Mana Potions, sold for the same price as Health Potions.
But that's not what Leruro bought yesterday.
A sudden, hurried knock on the door startles him. He thinks the trial is starting sooner than expected, but instead, the window on the door opens, and a plate is passed through.
It's breakfast.
While cautious, Leruro doubts anyone would poison him right after his arrival. Besides, he's feeling hungry.
The breakfast from Piltover resembles what he's eaten before, as Piltoverians aren't robots who survive on machinery alone.
After eating rice with some unfamiliar vegetables, he places the plate back in the door's window slot. Knocking on the door, a guard comes to collect it, giving Leruro a taste of prison life.
**[Task Remaining Time: 6 hours 31 minutes]**
"Almost time..."
As he mumbles, a clamor of footsteps grows louder outside his cell. The door swings open decisively.
Leruro sees Caitlyn and Vi at the front, followed by five or six uniformed Piltover guards in black and white, in contrast to Caitlyn and Vi's distinctive uniforms.
"Judgment Day has arrived. Come with us," Caitlyn says, stepping forward.
Leruro nods and stands, as two guards grab his arms and cuff him with special Hextech handcuffs.
Leruro smiles wryly, as even Jayce never got this treatment.
"This is just protocol," Caitlyn adds.
Leruro says nothing, knowing he has his magical power. Even Hextech handcuffs wouldn't restrain him.
Once cuffed, the guards let go, fortunately sparing him additional restraints.
With a group of guards escorting him, Leruro leaves his cell for the first time. The essence of Piltover's design surrounds him.
Machinery, gears, Hextech, and the blue-and-gold architecture exude Piltover's scientific artistry, even in the prison.
After a short walk, they arrive at an elevator. The guards behind Caitlyn and Vi stop here.
The elevator has no buttons; it's a direct-access lift.
Leruro stands in the center, flanked by Caitlyn and Vi, both appearing solemn.
Nervousness is inevitable as Leruro faces his first-ever "trial."
When the elevator stops, he's led to an enormous hall.
He has never seen such a grand door, towering several meters. Caitlyn and Vi easily push it open.
As it opens, a weight of authority settles over Leruro.
The hall's vastness is awe-inspiring, with rows of uniformed Piltover guards along both sides.
In the shadows along the edges, a diverse crowd of Piltover citizens stand, similar to a modern "public hearing."
Further inside, the room is sparse, with a single gear-shaped round table.
Seven people sit at the table, each radiating an aura that unmistakably distinguishes them from ordinary individuals.
Leruro knows these are Piltover's highest-ranking officials.
The Seven Councilors.
Sunlight streams from the roof, casting the round table in a radiant, almost sacred glow.
The light cleverly extends from the table to the door, creating a path of sunlight.
"Go on," Caitlyn says.
