Bab 8: Chapter 7: I unknowingly caused a commotion?!
Under the supervision of her brother, Wen Linshu, the gym workout session was finished quickly. Because of this efficiency, she was able to earn over 8000 points towards the main mission. Seeing this number in her progress bar, she laughed carelessly. En, she had already done around 20 tasks, if she did just 80 more, she would reach the next level in less than a week!
However, there was a certain problem. When school starts again, she wouldn't be able to come to the gym everyday. Thinking like this, Wen Jiexi sighed. She could only pick up more tasks at school.
Following her brother who was carrying her two suitcases, Wen Jiexi entered the car. Except for summer, winter, and the occasional holiday vacations, she would have to spend most of her time at the university. Hahh, does this mean I will have to join some fitness junkie group? How distressing….
The university was not far from Wen Jiexi's home, about 10 minutes away by car. After arriving, she refused her brother's offer to carry her luggage, and carried a case in each hand as she walked off to the girls' dorms. Please, such a precious opportunity, why would she waste it on her brother? Now there is no gym, how else was she earn points? Better start by carrying her own things.
Lost in her thoughts on how to earn more points, Wen Jiexi didn't notice the surprised and shocked looks she received from every corner of the campus. Soon enough, the school forums were bursting with activity.

As Wen Jiexi arrived at her dorms, was about to take out her card when….bang! The door opened on its own, and on the other side was a girl with a cute baby face and intelligent eyes, her hair up in a ponytail. Seeing Wen Jiexi's appearance, the girl showed a surprised expression.
"Little Xi?"
"Ah, Little Meng, why are you here?" Seeing the door of the dormitory open, Wen Jiexi smiled and put the key back into her pocket, then she bent down and picked up her luggage.
"Wait a second, let me help…." The Li Lingmeng who was about to walk forward and help, froze as she watched Wen Jiexi effortlessly carry her luggage in. And as Wen Jiexi walked in, she could feel a gust of wind pass her.
Li Lingmeng turned around and looked at the floor's other occupants. The same looks of astonishment were on their faces, telling her she wasn't hallucinating just now. She then turned back around and closed the door behind her, blocking their sight.
"Little Xi, are you fully recovered now?" Li Lingmeng looked at Wen Jiexi curiously. When it comes to Wen Jiexi's health, no one else was more clear on it than her. They've been together since middle school, high school, and now college. Every year she was in the same class as well. Can it be called fate? Anyways, because of this, Wen Jiexi and her had been close friends for a long time.
When deciding on the living situation of the dorms, everyone had to share with another person, naturally the two became roommates. And because of Wen Jiexi's weak body, Li Lingmeng always stayed by her side and acted as a go between her and others.
"This is … difficult to explain." Wen Jiexi smiled bitterly.
"It's all because of me! Because of Dango! Quick, little beauty, praise me, praise me!" Dango dangled in front of Li Lingmeng, boasting like crazy. A pity that others couldn't see him….
Wen Jiexi reached out to pat Li Lingmeng's head. She always liked the Li Lingmeng who took care of her despite being so short; it was so cute! Li Lingmeng was more than a feet shorter than her and yet she would use that tiny body to protect her from harm when her family couldn't.
"Don't touch my head! It's because you always do this that I won't grow taller!" Li Lingmeng avoided Wen Jiexi's hand and said angrily. I'm evidently a healthy person, so why is Wen Jiexi always taller than me! Hmph!
Wen Jiexi chuckled and pinched Li Lingmeng's bulging cheeks. Then, when she retracted her hand, she grabbed the Dango still in front of Li Lingmeng and threw it onto the bed behind her.
Put-tong….the floating Dango, under Wne Jiexi's 'light force', hit hard against the bed and then bounced before slowly….falling to the floor….
Dango: Why, Jiexi?!! QAQ
Hah, why not spend your time finding new tasks for me instead! Wen Jiexi coughed and then looked at it apologetically for her rough treatment. However, under Li Lingmeng's watchful gaze, she could only placate him later. Furthemore, since she couldn't touch her task panel right now, Dango can do it for her instead. Dango can receive missions in her stead, and since the mission can be canceled, might as well pick them all up and then select through them later.
"Little Xi, are you okay? Come and drink some water." Upon hearing Wen Jiexi's light cough, Li Lingmeng quickly entered the small kitchen. This dormitory was well-furnished, with a small kitchen, living room, and they each had their separate closets next to their separate beds that aligned the opposite sides of the bedroom. Generally, students chose not to move out of their dorms after such good treatment except for those with a boyfriend or girlfriend.
"Thank you, little Meng." Wen Jiexi took the glass of warm water from Li Lingmeng.
"You're welcome. Anyways, come here, organize your stuff first." Li Lingmeng waved her hands, and then opened Wen Jiexi's luggage. She started putting clothes on the hangers, and then put them neatly in Wen Jiexi's closet. Then at the bottom of the suitcases she saw….dumbells of all sizes? Is the other suitcase full of this stuff as well?!!
"Ah, little Meng, that's enough. Thanks, but I can do the rest." Noticing Li Lingmeng's strange gaze, Wen Jiexi smiled and lifted up the dumbells.
"Little Xi…you just effortlessly…isn't that too heavy for you?" Li Lingmeng stammered and then, taking a closer look. Half of it was full of books, the other half full of dumbells. Excluding the clothes, it must've weighed at least 50 pounds…and she had watched Wen Jiexi carry this with one hand. Could it be that after only one holiday, my friend has become Wonder Woman?!!
"No, it feels normal and since my body is getting better, I wanted to exercise more." Wen Jiexi placed a stack of books in the bookcase, clapped her hands, and then waved her hands in front of the still frozen Li Lingmeng, feeling puzzled.
"Little Meng, what's wrong?"
"N-nothing, hahaha…"Li Lingmeng laughed dryly. Wen Jiexi was lifting up a stack of books about half her height and looked relaxed and comfortable as she stuffed them onto the bookshelf, one by one. It feels like my three views are getting turned upside down?!!
"Oh, that's right! Now that you have recovered, you can participate in more college activities! You can also participate in the physical education classes! We can play together now!" Li Lingmeng said, getting more and more excited. She had always hoped that Wen Jiexi could have fun with her, but she couldn't previously due to her weak body. She was afraid that if they went out, their next destination would be the hospital.
"Ok, I will accompany you wherever you want to go. I can do anything I want now, so there's no need to worry." Wen Jiexi looked at Li Lingmeng's current expression, and felt moved as she apologized in her heart. The other party sacrificed a lot to always stay by her side, and now she could take this opportunity to pay back this debt.

"Face what now?" Wen Jiexi asked, puzzled.
"Look at this." Li Lingmeng turned her screen towards Wen Jiexi. On it was a ranking list tilted: The school's top goddesses. Next each name was a title (chosen by the student body, not the person itself, and a photo. And ranked third was herself, and her title was 「The sick beauty」. There was also a photo of her from when she was ill, somberly looking out the window. Under the sun, her skin looked extra pale. No wonder her title was that….but being called a beauty is still somewhat embarrassing…eh? Looking at it, Li Lingmeng was ranked twelfth, and her title was 「The energetic one」.
"This is just something fun the students came up with, so it doesn't mean anything. Besides, I've never been confessed to." Wen Jiexi pushed Li Lingmeng's hand away.
"Never been confessed to?" Li Lingmeng revealed a weird face,
"If I remember correctly, don't you receive a lot of chocolates every Valentine's?"
"Weren't those all for you?" Wen Jie asked strangely, every Valentine's she saw Li Lingmeng eating those chocolate rather cheerfully.
"Ah…" Li Lingmeng couldn't help but slap herself. Since Wen Jiexi's body couldn't tolerate eating too many sweets, she did it for her. After all, one shouldn't waste all that food. But she never knew that it would cause this sort of misunderstanding…now she's feeling somewhat sorry for those gift givers…she lit a pity candle for them in her heart. Then dryly coughing she continued,
"Didn't someone write you a love letter? I remember someone in middle school stuffed it into your locker or something. It should've been pretty common in college as well."
"You've always said that letters are impractical and not to read them because they're weird." Wen Jiexi tilted her head and thought about it,
"I remember there was one in middle school, but afterwards I never saw them again. As for college, I remember that a lot of them were poems. So of them were hard to read and others were copied and pasted from the internet. I didn't understand what they were trying to tell me. Are they trying to tell me they have good writing skills or something? But 80% of them were merely plagiarism."
Whaa, it's because they want to show you their sensitive sides! So what if they're hard to read, although they actually plagiarized and the person reading them even knew they were plagiarized….however, Li Lingmeng did not drop the topic, and feeling that on behalf of all of Wen Jiexi's admires she must ask,
"Didn't someone confess to you in person? What do you think of those people?"
"Well…there were some who would block my path and then stammer or mumble, so I had to ask them if they wanted to be my friend or something. Then I would nod and tell them I agree to be their friend. Afterwards, I would just continue on my way. Wait, were those people trying to confess to me?" Wen Jiexi recalled, then asked strangely.
Li Lingmeng held her face in her hands. It wasn't because the offense was weak, it was because the other party's defense was too high! And you bunch of admirers are stupid bumbling idiots, you can't even write a love letter correctly, much less confess! Bunch of trash, all of you are trash!
