Bab 6: Chapter 5: Your brother is the president!?
"Uhhhh, Jiexi, Big White, are you two okay?" Sister Lin scrambled to her feet, her face flushed. She had never expected things to turn out this way. Such an unlucky day for her….
"I'm fine." Wen Jiexi pushed herself up. Other than the surprise ambush, it really wasn't that bad of a blow for her, although she was a little surprised. Taking out a handkerchief, she wiped the dog saliva off her face, but she'll do a thorough wash when she had the time later.
"Jiexi, I'm so sorry. You've helped me so much and then this…" Sister Lin felt ashamed as she apologized to Wen Jiexi and at the same time, she glared at the one who caused this mess.
Big White: What are you looking at? You're the one who hit this young master and you dare stare at me like that! Hmph!
Sister Lin: This stupid dog!
"Sister Lin, are your feet okay? Your shoes, they…" Wen Jiexi looked down at the broken heels and her feet that were dotted with bruises. Even her knees were scratched red and still bleeding. No matter how you looked at it, Sister Lin wouldn't be able to walk properly for a while.
"It's okay, it doesn't matter. I'll just call and have someone pick me up later." Sister Lin hurriedly waved her hands, but then watched as the tall and thin girl lifted her and then placed her onto that delicate back. Effortlessly, the girl who was only half a head taller carried her. Sister Lin weighed at least 100 pounds and yet this girl…..what monstrous strength…
"Alright, let's go. My house is nearby, so I'll take you there." Wen Jiexi didn't realize she had done something that should be impossible for her as she started running forward with Sister Lin on her back.
OOOOOOOOO! Sister Lin who was lying on Wen Jiexi's back had her mouth wide open in surprise. Even an adult male would find it hard to carry a 100-pound woman, and this little girl did it without blushing or even wheezing! (*ﾟOﾟ*) Where did this little monster come from?!
On the other hand, Wen Jiexi is in a good mood. The system's voice kept announcing [+100] in her ears three times now, and it didn't seem like it was going to stop. Instead of feeling tired, she felt happy that Sister Lin weighed this much! Haha! So it turns out, carrying people is such a profitable action! Sadly, she didn't have any little brothers and sisters, otherwise, she would carry them all day!
"Whahahahaha! You've earned so many points! This Sister Lin is awesome!" Dango was beyond excited, laughing like crazy. In this one hour, they had earned 2-3000 points! Jiexi is such a hard worker!
"Big White, move aside a bit, I might accidentally step on you if you keep running in front of me!"
Big White: Awooo! Unfair, you would rather carry that ugly person than me! This young master is not happy!
It took them about twenty minutes to arrive at the door of the house. With no free hands, Wen Jiexi couldn't open the door and could only ring the doorbell. Her father, Wen Shan, was the one to answer it.
"Little Xi, back so soon?" Seeing that there was someone on her back, his eyes became curious,
"Who is this…"
"Dad, this is Sister Lin. I was helping her find her dog, but then her heels accidentally broke." Wen Jiexi walked in and lowered herself, gently setting Sister Lin down.
"Um, sorry to bother you." Sister Lin looked at Wen Shan in embarrassment. However, for some reason, she felt that Wen Shan looked familiar…
"It's no bother at all. As for this dog…" Wen Shan waved a hand at the dog sitting out front. He looked at Sister Lin's injuries and the broken shoes in her hands and then looked at the husky covered in leaves and mud. Although he let the girl in, he was a little hesitant to let the dog in as well. Wen Shan didn't want to increase Wang Ma's (the housekeeper) workload by adding another burden onto her. As a middle-aged woman who worked so long for their family, Wen Shan wanted to be considerate of her age.
Wen Jiexi went to wash her face and receive her two rewards from the completed missions. Then she grabbed a towel and the medicine kit under the sink to treat Sister Lin's wounds. However, as soon as she came out, a scene where her father and a dog having a staring contest appeared before her.
Meanwhile, Big White didn't understand why this handsome and mature man in front of him was staring at him.
Big White: Although this young master's charm is irresistible, I only like pretty women! Of course, I still love my owner the best!
Turning his head, he saw the previous little beauty from earlier and jumped up excitedly, and immediately wanted to pounce on her again.
"Stop! Big White, stay!" Sister Lin whispered into the dog's ears. Seeing that this troublesome dog was about to rush in, Sister Lin rushed over and tightly held the dog down, not minding the filth on his body at all. However, the dog kept struggling and bumped into her wounds multiple times, but Sister Lin did not dare to let go.
Big White: Awooooo! Let go of this young master!
"Big White, sit. Don't be disobedient." Now that Wen Jiexi's senses had all been improved, she could easily hear Sister Lin's whispers.
"Aowuuu…" Big White felt aggrieved, his ears and tail lowered and his face full of resentment. He even laid flat onto the floor with a sad whimper.
Wen Jiexi: "…." Do you need to go that far? Am I that scary?
Sister Lin: "…." You ungrateful little thing! This old lady tries so hard to take care of you and yet one word from a pretty lady and you suddenly become obedient! Alright, if that's how you want to play, fine! Come at me, let's see who'd win!
Wen Shan: "…." Wow, this dog has been trained so well!
Dango: "Wagagaga, stupid dog! This is divine retribution! Your fault for being a bad dog!"
Ignoring the depressed Big White, Wen Shan waved his hand to indicate he was going to his study to finish up his work. Seeing how his daughter is fine, he now had to go discuss how the menu for tonight is turning out.
"Does it hurt?" Wen Jiexi asked As she carefully held a cotton swab, dipped it in disinfectant and cleaned Sister Lin's wound. Those eyes were so gentle and full of warmth that Sister Lin felt a bullet go through her heart. So cute!! Such a capable and cute girl, I want to bring her home with me! Just as Sister Lin was facing an inner turmoil between her emotions and the law, a male's voice called out and her body immediately went stiff.
"Little Xi, what are you doing?" Wen Linshu had finished his call and personally made sure that all equipment was at his standards. Only the best of the best for his dear sister! After the call, he had walked out to see his sister, a somewhat familiar face and a….husky? What the heck is going on?
"President?!" As soon as Sister Lin turned around, she exclaimed loudly. T-The, the f-final boss is here! Is this his home? No wonder that middle-aged man from earlier looked so familiar!
"Oh, brother, you're here." Wen Jiexi looked up to and smiled at her brother, but before Wen Linshu could reply, Sister Lin interrupted,
"Brother?!!!!" With wide eyes, Sister Lin glanced back and forth between the two. Although Wen Linshu looked more like the handsome uncle, while Wen Jiexi had a softer look, probably from her mother, they both had around 2-3 tenths similarity.
Wen Linshu was quite annoyed at the loud screeching and seriously studied the woman. Isn't she that iceberg's assistant? Why is she here and with that stupid dog too!!
"Lin Yunxi, why are you here?" Wen Linshu asked, his arms crossed.
"Ahem…I, uh…you see…this…" Lin Yunxi had only been working at the company for about a year now and had seen the President plenty of times when he met with Little Su. However, she was only responsible for taking down notes, pouring tea, etc. so she never really talked with the boss. She didn't know what his character was like, much less that he had a little sister!
"Earlier, Big White ran away from home and I helped Sister Lin find him. Then Sister Lin's heels broke and she got injured, so I brought her home." Wen Jiexi tied the bandages together and then patted it. There, all done!
"Is that so? Then Little Xi, are you tired? Want to eat a snack?" Wen Linshu's attitude towards Wen Jiexi was the complete opposite compared to his cold treatment to Lin Yunxi! Seeing this gentle and kind big brother in front of her, Lin Yunxi's eyeballs wanted to fall out in disbelief! So…it turns out…the little sister controls the final boss!
Noticing Lin Yunxi's expression that wanted to laugh but couldn't dare to laugh, Wen Linshu raised an eyebrow,
"Assistant Lin, haven't your wounds been treated?" The meaning of those words was quite clear. He was asking her: why are you still here? Don't you know that you're interrupting my precious bonding time with my sister?!
"Pffftttt-! I mean, yes President! I'm going to ask Sister Wang to pick me up!" Lin Yunxi laughed as she picked up her phone.
"President? Wow, brother is the president." Wen Jiexi looked her brother up and down. Although she knew that her brother and father went out every day in suits and were probably bigshots, seeing how she never lacked money. Their house was bigger than ordinary families and they owned a lot of things, but she never expected her brother to be that great of a figure!
Enjoying the eyes of worship from his sister, Wen Linshu smiled and patted Wen Jiexi's head, then said humbly,
"Little sister, your brother is only in charge of a small company. They only call me president as a nickname."
The Wen family only wanted Wen Jiexi to be happy, to live a life free of worry and restrictions. Since she has always had a weak body, they protected her from everything.
When Lin Yuxi heard Wen Lishu's words, her eyes almost rolled into the back of her head. One must know that if Wen Linshu's company was considered a 'small' company, then what other company could be considered a 'large' company? And 'president' as a nickname? Wen Linshu was the President of three major entertainment companies and was praised multiple times as a talented, young and promising man who was the number one pick for a wealthy husband. If anybody else heard his words, how many will hang themselves from despair because they couldn't compare?
Despite these thoughts, Lin Yunxi could only maintain a smiling expression as she felt Wen Linshu's intimidating glare on her. An expression that seemed to say, 'Yes the president is right, we are only a very, very, very small company, you are praising us too much, we don't deserve it. Sister Wang, hurry up and save me!!!
HONK! Suddenly the sound of a car honking could be heard and Lin Yunxi's phone vibrated at the same time. Looking at it, Lin Yunxi immediately laughed in relief.
"President, I'll be leaving first and Jiexi, let's meet again sometime. Bye." After she finished speaking, under the shocked eyes of the two siblings, effortlessly picked up Big White and ran out with her bare feet. She left so fast, that only Big White's despairing howl could be heard.
Wen Jiexi: "…." Are all women this strong?!! Or have I met a fellow exercise enthusiast?
Wen Linshu: "…." Hmph. At least she can read the mood.
