There are forces in the magical world—people, creatures, organizations—that would do anything to control something as powerful as what's inside you. The moment they realize you have something they can use, you'll be hunted. And I don't mean by just typical bounty hunters. I'm talking about people who can wipe you off the map without breaking a sweat."

Damian gulped, his throat tight with anxiety. He didn't expect it to be that bad. He knew Malthus was after him and he was a target in this world. But it was the words 'People who can wipe you off the map without breaking a sweat' that made him shudder. That meant there was someone greater than Malthus out there and they were also targeting him.
