Bab 36: She Wasn't So Different From Her Mother

Ashley sat next to Nathan, a smile on her face as a toast was raised by Ethan and Ashandra, but her mind was elsewhere.

 As she downed the fruit juice that she had the waiter give her since she was so bad at holding her alcohol, her thoughts went back to the conversation she had with Nathan on the balcony.

 The man let go of her with a faint smile hanging off his lips. "I'm sorry. I know you don't like me touching you." Ashley drew in a sharp breath, the man's countenance drawing conflicting emotions within her.

 She cleared her throat and looked elsewhere. "It's alright. We were both in the moment." Nathan nodded.

 "Once the deadline we agreed on is up, I'll sign the divorce agreement like you wish me to." Her gaze snapped toward the man, shock and surprise swirling in her eyes.
