(In The School Canteen)
"You didn't tell me why you came to my class yesterday," Miles asked as he bit on the burger.
Riley, who was enjoying his food, raised his head and said, "Because I was missing my senior."
Miles choked on his food and started coughing. He didn't expect that answer from Riley.
"Give me water," Miles said, trying to reach for a glass near Riley.
Riley quickly gave Miles water, and Miles gulped it all down at once. After drinking, Miles slammed the glass on the table and glared at Riley.
Riley looked away. He knew Miles was angry.
"Stop it, or you know what will happen," Miles warned Riley, but there was no way Riley was ever going to stop this.
"But why senior? Don't you like me? I'm so cute." Riley put his hand under his chin and smiled.
Miles looked away and tried to ignore Riley. He brought him here to buy him lunch as an apology for the other day, but here this kid was again flirting with him.
"Okay, shut up now, or I'll go without paying for your food," Miles said, getting up from his seat. He wasn't really going though; it was only to scare Riley.
" No, no, no, senior. Don't go. You said you would pay, so I ordered extra. How would I pay for so much? I don't have enough money today," Riley said as he grabbed Miles' hand and stopped him from going.
"Okay, okay. I'm not going. Eat quickly, and then let's go," Miles said as he sat in his chair.
"Okay," Riley happily said, and again started enjoying his food. Whenever he got free food, he was unable to stop himself, and because of this, he always hurt his stomach.
"Eat slowly. Food isn't going anywhere," Miles said, seeing Riley eating so fast.
"Yeah yeah." Riley nodded, but he was afraid that Senior was going to run away without paying.
Miles watched Riley enjoy his food and smiled. He wondered how he dared to beat such a cute kid. But if this boy doesn't bother him, he won't ever hit him but instead protect him. He didn't like things like love. These things were mindless to him.
" Okay. I'm done. Let's go." Riley got up from his chair and burped.
Miles couldn't help it and was about to laugh, but he immediately turned his head away. He didn't want to laugh at Riley, or Riley would cling to him even more.
Though Miles tried to hide his grin, Riley had seen it. He wanted to tease Miles, but because of his overfull stomach, he couldn't bring words out of his mouth.
After taking a short walk to digest Riley's food, they were coming back to their classes.
They were in the middle of the hall when Riley opened his mouth to say something that pissed off Miles.
"Senior," Riley said, coming in front of Miles. "You are being so nice to me. Should I think you've started falling for me?" Riley asked with a smile.
Miles, who was in a good mood just now, felt anger welling up in his veins. He looked left and right in the long hall. There was no one. Miles grabbed Riley by his collar and pulled him into an empty room.
Riley was scared. He hadn't any desire to get beat up by miles again. He was just trying to be cute, but he didn't think that it would make Miles angry.
"Sorry, I was only—" Riley wanted to say something, but before he could, Miles slammed him against the wall and said,
"Don't joke around with me like this again, or you won't be able to recognize your face in the mirror. Do you understand it?" After saying that, Miles let go of Riley's collar and took a step away from him.
"But, senior, you know that—" Before Riley could finish his sentence, Miles slammed him on the wall once again and unbuttoned his shirt in an instant.
"What are you doing?" Riley yelled, but Miles covered Riley's mouth with one hand and pressed his body against Riley. Riley's eyes widened in shock. He tried to push Miles away, but it didn't work. Miles was much stronger than him; Riley shouldn't have made Miles angry.
" Why? What's wrong? Didn't you want me to love you?" Riley's watery eyes looked at Miles in disbelief as those words came out of Miles' mouth. Miles grabbed Riley's hand and pinned it to the wall, so he couldn't push him away.
"What are you struggling for? You wanted me to love you, right?" Miles whispered into Riley's ears.
Riley couldn't help but unconsciously close his eyes, and with some tears streaming down his cheeks, he said, "Not-not this way."
Miles realized he had gone a bit too far. He immediately took a step away from Riley. He didn't want to make Riley cry; he just wanted to teach him a lesson so he wouldn't bother him again.
Riley wiped his tears with one hand as more tears continued to appear, and with the other hand, he was clutching his shirt tightly. Seeing that, Miles felt like hating himself. He didn't like seeing Riley cry. It was making him sad.
Miles reaches out his hand to wipe away Riley's tears, but Riley pushes it away. Miles sighed and took a step forward. Riley tried to take a step back, but he was already standing next to the wall.
"Sorry, you can hit me, but don't cry. It hurts to see you cry like this," Miles said as he wiped Riley's tears.
Riley was perplexed when he heard Miles' words. Just now, he had scared him to death, and now he was saying that to him.
Miles moved his hand down to button Riley's shirt, and Riley let him do it. Although Riley wanted to get angry at Miles, he was unconsciously smiling while some tears were falling down his cheeks. 'Why are you doing this to me? You will make me fall for you for real, yet you won't fall for me.' Riley thought to himself as he stared at Miles.
After doing Riley's shirt, Miles cleaned Riley's tears once more and set his hair.
"Don't cry. I told you, you can beat me as much as you want to, but don't cry."
Riley didn't know why, but he suddenly felt the urge to hug Miles, and he did it. Miles was surprised. He was expecting a punch to his face or stomach, but here, Riley was hugging him. But then he didn't think much about it and hugged Riley back. It was his fault that Riley cried, so he should comfort him too.
Although Miles had never comforted anyone before, he was gently patting Riley's back and comforting him.
The hug broke, and they looked at each other before looking away. Just when have things gone like this between them?
"I should go to my class. And you… you go too," Miles said and exited the room quickly.
Even after Miles left, Riley was still there. His cheeks were burning red, and his heart was beating fast. He patted his cheeks to shake off these feelings. "You can't fall for him. You have other goals," Riley muttered to himself. Although he was saying it, his heart was denying it. He doesn't want everything he's said to Miles so far to be a lie, but true. He no longer wanted to do anything for Millie but wanted to do everything to be beside Miles.
Riley looks up at the ceiling as he wonders where he is going. His goal was something else. Then why is everything turning this way? 'Why is my heart beating so fast, and why is my face so hot?' Riley covered his face with his hands. 'I have to stop this. My goal is Millie, not him.'
(Flashback)
(Three Months Ago)
"But I like you," Riley said to Millie, a girl he liked at first glance, but for Millie, Riley was only an idiot. It wasn't the first time that somebody came to her and said that they liked her. It was common for her.
"But I don't like you." She answered. "There is nothing special about you. You look dumb, and I can't like any dumb guy like you."
Hearing Millie, Riley's heart aches. He knew he wasn't something so amazing, but no one had ever called him dumb.
"I'm not dumb, and I can do anything to prove it to you," Riley said confidently.
"You want to prove it?" Millie smiled as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Then, can you make that guy go out with you?" She pointed behind Riley.
Riley turned his head and saw a senior standing outside of his class. It seemed he had done something, and the teacher gave him the punishment of staying out of the class. Riley gulped upon seeing that senior. He knew this senior was dangerous to deal with.
" Okay. I will do." Riley answered.
And from that day on, Riley started chasing Miles. Riley didn't know that after he left, Millie was laughing at him and thinking, 'This guy is dumb. How can he say yes to something like that? He is really dumb.'
