Bab 22: Chapter 21: The Blushing Fu Lin
"My name is Fu Lin." Fu Lin looked up at the sky full of stars, not knowing who he was speaking to. Maybe it was for Yae Rin, or maybe it was for himself; who could say?
"Let go of my sister."
Finally finding the two, Yae Sakura was a bit out of breath. But seeing Yae Rin lying motionless on Fu Lin's lap and his hand stroking her head, her expression instantly turned cold.

"Of course, but you should know that your sister is already dead. Everything here is an illusion." Fu Lin continued to stroke Rin's head, looking at Yae Sakura.
"..." Yae Sakura fell silent. She knew everything was fake, but in this false world, at least her sister was alive, and she would do everything in her power to protect her.
"Tsk." Seeing he couldn't persuade her, Fu Lin stood up and placed Rin into Yae Sakura's arms, then turned and disappeared into the dark forest.
As she looked at her peacefully sleeping sister, the world around Yae Sakura began to crack, ultimately plunging everything into darkness.
Walking through the forest, Fu Lin realized he had arrived at a new scene.
Around him, a crowd was holding torches, walking toward the shrine, chanting words of sacrifice.
"What's going on?" Fu Lin ran anxiously toward the shrine.
Meanwhile, the Yae sisters were hiding behind a rock, secretly observing, with Rin looking worriedly at her sister.
"Sis… can we really escape?"
"Don't be afraid, Rin." Seeing Rin's worried expression, Yae Sakura comforted her by stroking her head.
"As long as we escape this village, no one will hurt us anymore." But just as the two were about to escape the shrine, Yae Sakura was grabbed by a man, causing Rin to fall heavily to the ground.
"Did you think you could take Rin and run?"
"Becoming a sacrifice is her fate. Come on, let's go." The man tightened his grip on Sakura's wrist, looking reproachfully at her.
"Let her go." Fu Lin arrived just in time, coming up beside the man and pressing down on his shoulder, glaring coldly at him.
"Who are you?" The man, feeling the pressure on his shoulder, glared menacingly at the interfering Fu Lin.
"I'm a nobody." Fu Lin punched the man away, then pulled Yae Sakura and the fallen Rin toward the edge of the village.

At that moment, in the outside world, Fu Lin lying on the ground opened his eyes, feeling fox ears resembling Yae Sakura's growing from his head. He got up and excitedly roared, "Finally, finally... after five hundred years, I have regained a human body!"
"This body is unexpectedly powerful!"
Still reveling in her newfound strength, Higokumaru hadn't realized what was happening before being knocked down by the Herrscher of Sentience behind her with a brick.
"Bricks are really useful." The Herrscher of Sentience waved the brick in her hand, praising the ancient artifact. If it weren't for looking into Fu Lin's memories, she wouldn't have known how useful a brick could be.
"You have no martial ethics." Higokumaru lay on the ground, unable to move, watching the Herrscher of Sentience squatting above her and letting out reluctant cries.
"Martial ethics? I abandoned that long ago. It was precisely because I had martial ethics that I lost to Kiana, so I decided to become a scoundrel." Fu Shi looked down in disdain at Fu Lin, now possessed by Higokumaru.
Curiously fiddling with the fox ears that had grown on Fu Lin's body due to the possession, Fu Lin's face turned bright red.
"You... um —stop... please." Higokumaru was somewhat overwhelmed, feeling completely weak and unable to exert any strength.
"No wonder Fu Lin likes touching that fox's ears; it turns out it feels so good." The Herrscher of Sentience ignored Higokumaru's words, took out her phone to record the scene, and continued to play with the ears.
"Ugh!" Higokumaru could no longer tolerate the sensation and had to close its eyes, retreating into the world it created to escape this mentally immature Herrscher.
"Tsk, this expression is perfect." Seeing Fu Lin unresponsive, the Herrscher of Sentience stopped her teasing and began taking photos of Fu Lin with his phone.
Just then, as Fu Lin was dragging the Yae sisters away, he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine—a bad premonition!
Before he could react, a massive fox demon appeared ahead, spewing out blazing flames toward the three of them.
"If I can't beat it outside, can I not beat it from within?" The agitated fox demon continuously shot flames at Fu Lin, trying to incinerate him into ashes.
However, the three remained perfectly still, and the intense flames were dispersed by the force of Fu Lin's swinging fists. Higokumaru then gathered more energy to create a larger fireball, but upon seeing Fu Lin suddenly appear before it, it panicked, horrified to see him pressing the newly formed fireball back into its mouth.
Boom—!!!
The blazing fireball exploded in Higokumaru's mouth. Seeing the smoke rising from its mouth, Fu Lin seized the opportunity to throw another punch.
Higokumaru crashed heavily to the ground, unable to rise again. Fu Lin's mouth twitched as he looked at the dent in Higokumaru's head, feeling he might have gone a bit too far.
Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded beside him, and the Herrscher of Sentience slowly appeared next to Fu Lin, gazing at the fallen Higokumaru.
"So this is the herrscher that was trying to posses your body? I arrived late, how infuriating." Fu Shi poked Higokumaru's head, but there was no response.
"Can you use your powers to eliminate her hatred for humans?" Fu Lin nodded and gently stroked Higokumaru's soft fur.
"This little task is no problem for me." The Herrscher of Sentience patted her chest confidently and pressed on Higokumaru's head.
Under the Herrscher of Sentience's influence, Higokumaru's body gradually dissipated, leaving behind a small creature with four tails and two fox ears.
"Who are you? I'm not afraid of you!" Higokumaru slowly opened her eyes, looking fearfully at Fu Lin and Fu Shi surrounding her.
"We're not the good guys. No, wait, we are good guys. You don't need to be scared." Both Fu Lin and the Herrscher of Sentience revealed cheerful smiles, causing Higokumaru to jump into Yae Sakura's arms in fright.
"Huh?" Yae Sakura looked at Higokumaru, who was clutching her clothes tightly, a puzzled expression on her face.
Just then, a voice from behind came.
"Goodbye, sister." As the voice faded, Yae Rin smiled and bid her sister a final farewell before disappearing from this space.
"Rin." Yae Sakura's eyes filled with tears, her heart aching with reluctance.
"Phew, Miss Yae Sakura, how about following me from now on? Your sister might even be revived in the future." Fu Lin approached Yae Sakura, lifting the little fox in his arms, and sincerely invited her as he noticed her sadness.
"You'll be my emergency food from now on, and your name will be Higokumaru."
"Bad guy, let go of me." Higokumaru struggled in protest with her short arms and legs.
"...Mm." Although there was a slight delay, Yae Sakura agreed to Fu Lin's invitation. At the moment she agreed, her body gradually began to dissolve and merge into Fu Lin, forming a Stigma on his back.
"Wait for me, I'm not in yet!" Seeing this, Higokumaru broke free from Fu Lin's grip and quickly followed her way into the Stigma.
"Hey, can I get the Stigma on my hand?!" Fu Lin felt the new Stigma on his back but thought it would look cooler on his hand. The mark flickered slightly, and while Yae Sakura felt a bit speechless, she moved to Fu Lin's right hand.
Looking at the red mark on the back of his hand, Fu Lin couldn't help but get a little dramatic, clenching his arm and shouting, "My power of the king!"

"King my foot! If you don't leave this space, you're going to disappear!" The Herrscher of Sentience slapped him, dragging Fu Lin back into the real world.
