Bab 31: Confirmation of Feelings

The next morning dawned, the sky a somber gray that seemed to carry an eerie stillness within its folds into the city. Isabella sat by the window of Leon's penthouse, her hand curled around a cup of cold coffee. She had hardly slept after the revelations of last night, her mind a maelstrom of thoughts of her mother, Weber, and the conspiracy that had destroyed her family.

Leon was in the other room, speaking softly on the phone with Derek. His presence alone gave her the feeling of safety she hadn't known in some time. She knew it would be short-lived. The storm was headed their way, and it would only be a matter of time before everything blew up.

Leon looked pretty serious when he re-entered. "Derek has a lead. One of the names in Weber's network had been traced to a shipping company. It is a front for something huge, and Weber has been using it to move money and people."

Isabella scrunched her face as she set her coffee down. "So, what's the plan?"
