Bab 81: CHAPTER 81

Edwina left. 

I had been eager to see her, to see my son and spend some time with them, only for me to meet an empty house.

It was locked from the outside, and the house was hollow in a way that made me know that the absence was not just temporary.

It was permanent.

Edwina had left New York. She had packed her bags, took my son, and left me behind again.

Without any explanation. She didn't even send a text.

Despite everything I've done for the past few days to show her that I was a changed man, that I was willing to do everything for my son.

She still left. 

My heart splintered into tiny little ones pieces. Why? 

Why was Edwina doing this to me? Why was it so hard for her to trust me? Why would she not for once in her life, open her heart and see that I was sincere?

Why was she so hellbent on not believing me, on forever branding me as the bad guy?
