December Double Drop!

"Interested? I could give her to you," Kingpin offered with a smile.
Hearing this, Ryan quickly turned around.
"Boss, no! You promised me," he said, a hint of desperation in his voice.
Kingpin's grin widened. "But deals can always be canceled."
"What?" Ryan froze, unable to believe it.
"No way… Everyone says Kingpin is the most trustworthy."
Kingpin's gaze turned mocking. "Isn't it possible that everyone who doubted my trustworthiness… is dead?"
"What—"
"Bang!"
A bullet drilled straight into Ryan's forehead, his shocked expression frozen as he collapsed to the ground.
Kailin slipped her pistol back into her jacket, smiling.
"There goes another one who doubted the boss's word."
Xia Luo's face darkened. So this is how he keeps his reputation intact?
Just then, Kailin received another message.
"Boss, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents have arrived," she reported.
A cruel smirk played on Kingpin's lips.
"Good. The name of Kingpin has been silent for too long. Too many have forgotten us. It's time the world remembers the name of Kingpin once again."
"Kill them all!"
"Yes, sir!"
Hundreds of suited men swiftly disappeared into the surrounding passageways as an explosive boom echoed from the mountaintop.
"Boom!!"
In an instant, a rain of rubble crashed down. As soon as the pyramid was hit, nearby devices activated, emitting crimson beams that wove a protective energy shield around it.
"Zzzz…"
"Boom!"
As the energy shield deployed, the falling rocks disintegrated upon contact, unable to penetrate the pyramid's defenses.
Seeing this, Xia Luo couldn't help but scoff.
With tech like this, he's sticking to underground crime?
Compared to the Kingpin in another universe who built a parallel-universe travel machine, this one is way too conservative.
"Boom!"
The next second, Kingpin punched through a massive rock about to crush Xia Luo.
As dust and debris dispersed, Kingpin looked up at the ceiling.
Through the newly blasted hole, armed soldiers descended on ropes, swarming into the mountain.
Clearly, S.H.I.E.L.D. had come prepared this time.
Kingpin, unfazed, waved his hand. "Kailin, protect the kid. Get him to safety."
"Yes, boss."
Under Xia Luo's stunned gaze, the alluring Kailin hoisted him over her shoulder and dashed toward the pyramid.
Clearly, Kailin's physical capabilities were beyond those of a normal person.
"Hey, kiddo, how about it? Big sis is pretty strong, huh?" Kailinteased, imagining Xia Luo's shocked expression.
But Xia Luo only grimaced. "You're… pressing on me."
"Oh, sorry about that."
Without hesitation, Kailin shifted him into a bridal carry.
As she sprinted, Kailin sidestepped falling debris with ease.
Meanwhile, Xia Luo's face was repeatedly smacked by something bouncing against him.
daung daung daung
"Slow down… I can't catch my breath," he muttered, feeling dizzy.
"Hang on, we're almost there."
Moments later, Kailin reached the vicinity of the pyramid.
"Bzzz~"
Sensing Kailin, the energy shield parted to allow her and Xia Luo entry.
"You're safe now."
After setting him down, Kailin seemed ready to flirt with him a little, but before she could, two figures in red and blue swung in from behind the pyramid, shooting webs that formed a net over her.
"We did it!"
"Yes!"
The two figures landed, high-fiving in celebration.
Kailin glared at the two impostor Spider-Men.
"When did you get in here?" she demanded.
Ben Parker smirked. "Oh, we've been here a while. We planned to strike when you let your guard down, but now it's not necessary since you brought the hostage right to us."
Nearby, Aunt May, clad in her own Spider-Suit, approached Xia Luo.
"Kid, are you alright? Not hurt, are you?" Aunt May asked with concern.
Hearing the familiar voice, Xia Luo felt like his world was crumbling.
After mastering the fifth Spider Totem, Uncle Ben and Aunt May couldn't wait to throw themselves into danger.
This mission was going to fall apart.
"Oh, I'm fine, thank you, Spider-Man," he replied, abandoning the idea of exposing his elders' disguises.
Xia Luo shrugged. "All good."
Aunt May nodded, then turned to Kailin.
"How do we disable these strange devices?" she asked, pointing to the laser equipment around them.
Kailin sneered. "And you think I'll tell you?"
"Then prepare to feel our wrath!" Ben Parker clenched his fist, pretending to be threatening.
Kailin scoffed. "Just from the sound of your voices, I can tell what kind of people you are. Two old fossils… today you're—"
Before she could finish, Ben Parker and Aunt May suddenly grabbed Xia Luo and swung toward the pyramid.
Kailin: "…"
What just happened?
"Old man, that woman looks pretty tough."
"Yeah, I can tell. She's not scared of us, and she carried little Xia Luo that fast. She must have superpowers."
"I don't think we can beat her."
"If you feel like we can't beat her, then we probably can't."
"Agreed."
"Hey, you two Spider-Men can chat all you want, but can you stop throwing me around?" Xia Luo muttered, exasperated, as he swung through the air.
Shooo~
Ben Parker caught Xia Luo mid-swing and landed at the entrance of the pyramid.
"Sorry, but if we don't toss you around, we can't switch webs."
"Fair point."
Xia Luo glanced back, noticing Kailin cutting through the webbing and charging towards them. Without hesitation, he entered the pyramid.
"Where are you going?" Aunt May asked.
"Where were you planning to take me?" Xia Luo paused.
Aunt May surveyed their surroundings. "We could lead her on a chase around here, but if we go inside, she might trap us."
"No need to worry. The real Spider-Man is already here."
With that, Xia Luo strode quickly into the pyramid.
Behind him, Aunt May and Ben Parker exchanged glances.
"How does he know Spider-Man is coming?"
"You forgot, Spider-Man's his friend."
"Oh, right."
"Better hurry; that angry lady's catching up."
The two dashed into the pyramid but lost sight of Xia Luo in the narrow corridor.
"Oh no, little Xia Luo's gone!" Aunt May gasped.
"Hey, relax. I've already moved him to a safe place."
A metallic figure dangled from the corridor's ceiling—Xia Luo, now in his nano-suit, having swapped into his Spider-Man guise.
Ben Parker gasped. "The metal suit… It's Spider-Man!"
"Yes, I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Care to join me in saving the world?" Xia Luo invited.
"Of course. It's an honor," Aunt May replied, excited.
She seemed to have returned to the fiery spirit of her youth.
"You're not getting away!"
The next moment, Kailin's mocking voice echoed down the corridor.
But as soon as she stepped forward, the red-and-blue figure blurred past her.
"No~"
Bang!!
With the force of a truck's impact, Kailin's body flew backward and crashed to the ground, her bones feeling like they'd dislocated on impact. The searing pain forced a scream out of her.
"You still have the strength to talk?"
Xia Luo looked at her in surprise, then glanced at his own fist.
What exactly had softened the force of his punch?
Well, whatever it was, it had to be pretty tough.
Ignoring the immobilized Kailin, Xia Luo waved to Ben Parker and Aunt May to follow him.
"Wow, what a strong Spider-Man. He defeated that woman with a single punch."
"As expected from Xia Luo's idol."
"Do you think we could do that someday too…"
The two elder Parkers whispered behind him, but Xia Luo didn't mind.
Recalling the scene earlier, he guessed that both of them must have undergone some form of enhancement; there was no way they'd be able to swing around at their age otherwise.
Compared to other Spider-variants, the enhancements that Ben Parker and Aunt May received were clearly on another level.
The Parker family—impressive as always!
Soon, the three of them reached a spacious, two-hundred-square-meter area at the end of the narrow passageway.
The ceiling glowed with a golden light, like a small sun illuminating the entire chamber.
The worn walls reflected faint golden glimmers.
Ahead of them, a stone statue of an Egyptian pharaoh knelt in reverence, bowing toward the direction of the "sun."
At the base of the statue, the Time Tablet stood quietly.
"Who's there?!"
"It's Spider-Man! Three of them!"
The guards near the Time Tablet spotted the trio and immediately opened fire.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
As bullets flew, Xia Luo quickly stepped in front of Ben and May, raising his hand to block the oncoming shots.
Clang clang clang
Sparks flew as bullets bounced off his nanometal suit. With a flick of his wrists, webbing shot out and yanked the guns from the guards' hands, suspending them upside down from the ceiling.
Before Ben and Aunt May could even process what had happened, the fight was over.
"What just happened?"
"I saw Spider-Man block bullets with his bare hands."
"We're Spider-Men too; maybe we could try it sometime…"
"No trying!"
Xia Luo frowned, quickly quashing any ideas they might have. Trying that would be a fast track to the afterlife.
Beep beep~
Just then, his nano-communicator buzzed.
"Where are you? Kingpin's not easy to handle—get here and help me!" Carter's urgent voice crackled.
"Huh?"
Xia Luo frowned. With Carter's current strength, even she was struggling with Kingpin?
"I'll be there soon. Hang in there."
He ended the call, then checked the only exit from the chamber, reassured.
"You two stay here and protect the Tablet. I'll be back soon."
With that, Xia Luo dashed out of the pyramid.
Left alone, Ben and Aunt May wandered around the statue, slightly bored.
"So, this is the tablet Spider-Man wants us to guard?" Aunt May asked, reaching out to touch the Time Tablet curiously.
Ben nodded. "Seems like it. It must be something really important."
"And what about this?" Aunt May looked at the statue.
Ben thought for a moment. "I'd guess this is an Egyptian pharaoh. They worshiped the sun god, and he seems to be praying or performing some sort of ritual."
"Is there a sun god around here?" Aunt May glanced around.
Ben pointed to the small "sun" on the ceiling. "That's probably the sun god. Egyptian myths aren't like other pantheons; their sun god doesn't look human."
Aunt May looked up thoughtfully at the ceiling, then turned to Ben.
"Why don't we pray to the sun god too? Let's ask for a nice girlfriend for Xia Luo."
Ben: "…"
"The sun god isn't Cupid."
"A god is a god. They should all be able to help with this sort of thing."
"But—"
"Just do it."
"Uh… alright!"
Resigned, Ben knelt down and mimicked Aunt May's prayerful stance, mumbling under his breath.
"Oh great sun god, please grant our dear Xia Luo a kind and beautiful girlfriend. And if she's wealthy, that would be even better…"
Buzz~
Suddenly, the ceiling's "sun" flared brightly, as if answering their prayer.
"Look, we did it!" Aunt May exclaimed.
As she spoke, a beam of golden light from the ceiling struck the statue, then refracted off the surrounding walls, bouncing until it hit the Time Tablet, enveloping both of them in its glow.
"Oh my… our bodies…"
Meanwhile, outside, in the chaos of the mountain.
Crack crack.
Rocks splintered at each entrance, silver rhino mechs bursting through clouds of dust.
"Hahaha, kill them all!!"
"Let's show them what we're made of!!"
Driven by Kingpin's suited men, the rhino mechs charged through the hail of bullets, leaving destruction in their wake.
One massive mech swung a metal fist, but Carter raised her shield to meet it.
Boom!
The force of the impact sent the rhino mech staggering back.
Before Carter could counter, a new threat emerged from the shattered walls—a giant mechanical spider barreled through, sending soldiers flying and trampling over anyone in its path.
In mid-air, Harry dropped pumpkin bombs one after another, flames erupting around the rhino mechs. But their thick armor was barely scratched.
Whirr!!
The spider mech's eyes glowed red, and it fired a grappling hook aimed directly at Harry.
"What the—?"
Harry narrowly dodged, staring down at the monstrous mech below, which was the size of a bus.
"Damn it… what is that?"
"Spider-Slayer, a deadly weapon designed just for Spider-Man. Unfortunately, he's not here, so I'll have to test it out on you all instead."
In the midst of the battle, Kingpin strolled leisurely, a cruel smile on his face.
Any soldier he laid hands on went down in a single punch.
He never needed a second strike.
Whoosh~
An alloy arrow shot toward him, but Kingpin reached out without turning, catching it mid-air.
Before it could explode, he tossed it back into the crowd of soldiers.
Boom!!
"Aargh!!"
The soldiers' screams echoed as Barton, hidden in the shadows, scowled, abandoning any further attempts to snipe Kingpin. He focused on other targets instead.
Watching from the command room, Nick Fury's single eye grew cold, his fists clenched.
"I underestimated Kingpin. Initiate Plan B."
"Yes, sir," Coulson replied, quickly moving to set things in motion.
Back on the chaotic battlefield, a massive rumble came from the direction of the pyramid as the ground shook violently. The laser devices around the area short-circuited, sparks flying as they malfunctioned.
Buzz~
The crimson laser beams flickered out, and the protective energy shield dissipated.
"What?!"
Everyone turned in shock toward the pyramid, where a small figure slowly rose from the dust, the stone floor beneath him now fractured like a spider web.
He had destroyed the laser weapons in the simplest, most brute-force way possible.
Watching from a distance, Kingpin narrowed his eyes.
It had been a long time since he'd felt this kind of threat from an opponent.
