Bab 31: Bankruptcy

The assaults on my decoys were intensifying with each passing day. I couldn't count how many times one of them had been stabbed in a crowded street. A pointless effort—my attackers couldn't grasp that plunging a blade into a magical crystal replica was utterly futile.

As for my real residence, anyone daring enough to send an assassin my way quickly regretted it. This estate housed only me and Phantom, so anyone stepping inside was automatically an enemy. None of these assassins lasted more than three seconds once they set foot in the mansion. I'd even posted a sign near the entrance that read, "Extreme Traps in Use" for any non-hostile visitors, along with a notice suggesting they leave any letters in the mailbox outside.
