Bab 42: Leaving

Silverline lounged by the window, her gaze distant yet her focus sharpened, as if tuning into a symphony only she could hear. Her lips curled into a smirk, a glimmer of laughter dancing in her eyes, until the amusement boiled over, and a quiet chuckle escaped her.

Noticing this, Grace walked over, eyebrow raised, a hint of curiosity sparking in her gaze. She crossed her arms, tilting her head slightly. "Alright, what's so funny?"

Silverline couldn't hold it back any longer. Her laughter erupted, light and teasing, her shoulders shaking as she finally turned to face her sister, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Oh, Grace, you wouldn't believe what I just overheard."

Grace rolled her eyes but couldn't quite suppress her own curiosity, especially when Silverline got that particular gleam. "And why were you eavesdropping? Don't tell me you're spying on everyone with that super hearing of yours." She tried to sound exasperated, but her tone carried a hint of amusement.
