Bab 63: [63] I'll follow you, Brian

However, Brian didn't immediately accept Emma's request for a bed battle.

"Emma," he said, his gaze intense, "I want to experience the feeling of a double row in the mind."

When they had first met, Brian had avoided engaging Emma in a mental connection, fearing that she might uncover the secrets buried deep within his mind. Instead, their interaction had been purely physical.

That decision had left Brian with lingering regret, and now he sought to fulfill what he had missed out on.

This time, with rare free moments, Brian was ready to experience the connection of the mind.

"Brian, are you sure you want to try it?" Emma asked, a teasing smile playing at the corners of her lips as she observed him.

"Definitely," Brian replied confidently.

Hearing his affirmative answer, Emma gently extended her right index finger and touched his temple. With a subtle motion, she drew Brian's consciousness into her mindscape.

This was no invasive act, so Brian's adaptive evolution ability did not activate. His consciousness flowed seamlessly into Emma's mental world without resistance.

For Brian, this was his first time entering the mindscape of a telepathic mutant.

Emma's mind world was breathtakingly pure and serene. The lush green grass beneath an endless blue sky exuded tranquility, clearing Brian's thoughts and calming his spirit.

Turning his attention to Emma, Brian noticed her spiritual form. In her mindscape, Emma's consciousness was flawless, radiating brilliance like a diamond. She appeared ethereal, almost angelic, exuding a sense of holiness.

At that moment, Emma was reclining lazily on the soft grass, her luminous form shimmering. With a playful glint in her eye, she extended another invitation to 'battle'.

This time, Brian didn't hesitate.

The two engaged in an intense exchange within the spiritual world.

"The sensations here are extraordinary," Brian remarked to himself, marveling at the experience. The collision of their spiritual consciousnesses during the battle was nothing short of exhilarating, offering a level of connection he had never experienced before.

In the spiritual realm, every sensation was magnified dozens of times beyond what could be felt in the physical body.

A few hours later

Brian and Emma opened their eyes simultaneously. They exchanged smiles, both visibly satisfied after their shared experience of ultimate spiritual fulfillment.

"Emma, it's my turn to take the lead now," Brian said with a playful smirk.

With a casual snap of his fingers, the three of them lifted off the ground and flew toward the nearby hotel.

The next morning

When the sun rose, Brian's "battle" finally concluded. He stretched leisurely, feeling a deep sense of satisfaction, both mentally and physically.

The renewed sense of balance and accomplishment left Brian in high spirits. With another light snap of his fingers, the clothes lying next to him automatically fitted themselves back onto his body.

"Emma," Brian began, his tone shifting to one of seriousness, "the X-Men and the Hellfire Club are about to face a decisive battle."

The fun was over, and now it was time to focus on the pressing matters at hand.

"The Hellfire Club has no future. You should leave it," Brian said firmly.

Emma fell silent at his words.

Brian's prophecy about the downfall of the Hellfire Club and its leader, the Black King, Sebastian Shaw, had planted doubts in her mind. She had already been questioning Shaw's vision of establishing a mutant nation.

In the past month, the X-Men had grown rapidly in strength, becoming a formidable force. In stark contrast, the Hellfire Club had seen little progress, stagnating while its rival continued to rise.

As the gap between the two factions widened, Emma couldn't help but feel that Brian's prediction of Shaw's failure was slowly becoming a reality.

However, precisely because of this, Emma found herself feeling lost.

She didn't know what path to take once Sebastian Shaw was gone.

From a very young age, Emma had been rejected by the human world for being a mutant. She had spent years wandering alone, searching for a place where she belonged.

Everything changed when she met Sebastian Shaw and joined the Hellfire Club. For the first time, Emma found a sense of community and purpose. She was deeply moved by Shaw's vision of creating a nation exclusively for mutants.

Over the years, Emma had devoted herself wholeheartedly to supporting Shaw and the Hellfire Club.

But now, Brian's prophecy loomed over her: Shaw's death was imminent, and the Hellfire Club might soon collapse entirely.

As a psychic mutant, Emma had always relied on her intellect and composure. Yet, for the first time, she felt overwhelmed, unsure of what to do next.

"Emma, even if you lose the Hellfire Club, you still have me," Brian said warmly adding a little persuasion, gripping her shoulders gently.

Hearing Brian's reassuring words, Emma smiled faintly.

"Brian, are you really going to follow the X-Men?" she asked, her tone tinged with curiosity.

"No," Brian replied without hesitation. "I joined the X-Men only to leverage the power of Professor X and Magneto to take down Sebastian Shaw. Once Shaw is gone, my time with the X-Men will be over."

Brian's honesty was unwavering, and he didn't hide his true intentions from the White Queen.

After their deep spiritual connection, Brian and Emma's relationship had grown significantly closer.

Because of this, Brian felt no hesitation in revealing that he was using the X-Men for his own purposes.

"Can Sebastian Shaw really be killed?" Emma asked skeptically, her gaze fixed on Brian.

Having followed Shaw for so long, Emma was acutely aware of his immense power and the challenge of eliminating him.

"Even if you use Professor X's telepathy to control Shaw's consciousness, it won't be enough to kill him," Emma said earnestly. "Physical attacks are completely ineffective against him. His Energy Absorption nullifies everything."

Brian, however, remained unfazed. "Don't worry, Emma," he replied confidently. "Even though Shaw can absorb all forms of energy, I've figured out a way to kill him—permanently."

Brian's confidence stemmed from his knowledge of Shaw's eventual downfall in the X-Men: First Class storyline. He found it laughable that a single coin had managed to pierce Shaw's skull, killing him in that narrative.

To Brian, it was absurd. Shaw's Energy Absorption ability didn't rely on his brain alone—his entire body could absorb energy instinctively. Even under the mental control of Professor X, firing ten coins at Shaw wouldn't have made a difference.

Rather than relying on such improbable plot to kill Shaw, Brian preferred to devise his own method—one that ensured Shaw's death beyond a shadow of a doubt.

During this time, after careful consideration, Brian had finally devised a way to permanently eliminate Sebastian Shaw.

"I hope you're right," Emma said. "Brian, if you truly manage to kill Sebastian Shaw, I'll leave the Hellfire Club."

She smiled softly and embraced Brian, her expression turning serious.

"From now on, I'll follow you, Brian."

They say men can't win over strong women. But that's only because they aren't strong enough themselves.

For someone like Brian, even a formidable woman like the White Queen, Emma Frost, willingly abandoned the Hellfire Club to follow him.

"Excellent, Emma. Welcome to the soon-to-be-established Vought Company," Brian said with a sincere smile.

"Vought Company?" Emma asked, looking at Brian with a hint of confusion.

"Yes, the Vought. A company dedicated to turning mutants into superheroes," Brian explained briefly.

"Turning mutants into superheroes? That's a genius idea," Emma said, clearly impressed. Compared to the societal disdain mutants faced, superheroes were far more accepted and celebrated by humanity.

After their discussion, Brian, Emma, and Kayla spent several more hours together. When the time came, at Brian's request, Emma and Kayla left Siberia and traveled to New York to go into hiding.

"Now, it's time to meet the powerful mutant," Brian said to himself, shifting his focus.

After solving the problem of White Queen Emma, Brian put his mind on the wild Mutant.
