The soldiers didn't stand a chance.
The first wave of zombies hit their line like a wrecking ball, tearing through their formation with terrifying speed. The sound of gunfire roared through the station, but it wasn't enough to drown out the sickening squelch of teeth sinking into flesh or the screams that followed.
Alex dragged me along, his hand iron-tight around my arm as the chaos unfolded behind us. My leg throbbed, each step sending a fresh jolt of pain shooting up my body, but fear kept me moving.
"Keep moving and don't look back," Alex hissed, his voice tight with urgency.
But I couldn't help myself. I glanced over my shoulder—and immediately wished I hadn't.
The scene was a nightmare.
