Bab 43: The Long Tunnel

"Alex!" Sarah's scream echoed through the void as her fingers grazed his. The distance between them widened as the abyss opened beneath them, pulling them apart. Her heart pounded in her chest, her breath catching as she desperately reached out. "Don't leave me!"

Alex's eyes were wild with panic, his own hand outstretched. "I'm not letting go!" His voice, strong and commanding, cut through the chaos, but the air between them seemed to thicken, making it impossible for their hands to meet. The force dragging them down was merciless, like invisible chains tightening around their bodies, determined to keep them apart.

Sarah's mind raced. This couldn't be happening. Not after everything they had survived—together. She had fought too hard, suffered too much to lose him now. Tears stung her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. "Fight it, Alex! Please! We can't lose each other now!"
