Bab 56: Whispers and lies

It felt like my world wasn't how it used to be since I had stepped foot in the Alfonzo family estate and it scared me of how horrible they were.

They were heartless, killing off people they felt were unimportant or a threat to their name and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the same thing they had done to my half-sister. 

One thing I knew for sure was that I couldn't let it go.

The chill of last night's events still clung to me, refusing to leave my mind no matter how many times I tried to shake it off. 

I hadn't been able to sleep; every time I closed my eyes, I saw that lifeless body lying on the polished marble floor, Sofia clutching the gun with such a tight grip that I feared the gun might break. And Bruno, calmly ordering his men to clean it up like it was just another mess that needed sweeping under the rug.
