The carriage wheels creaked to a halt on the snow-covered ground. Belladonna descended first, her gown fluttering as she rushed toward the campsite. The rows of raised tents astonished her; everyone had worked tirelessly to ensure warmth for the night.

Headstone followed, his footsteps dragging through the snow, weighed down by guilt. The burden of his decisions hung heavy on his shoulders.

As they approached Ryker's tent at the front line, the hunter's piercing gaze met them. "How did it go?" Ryker asked, his hand instinctively checking his pistol.

Before Belladonna could respond, Headstone intervened, his voice laced with evasion. "How did—?."

"Rosemary, she announced it."

"Oh. It went as expected."
