<Hogwarts Express>
The roofless train was still moving.
In one of the compartments,
George and Fred had put on every piece of clothing they could find.
In fact, aside from that time in the third year of the original story when Lupin had to take the Hogwarts Express to school because he arrived late,
most of the teachers usually Apparate to Hogsmeade Village ahead of time.
Then they walk to the school.
This saves them half a day's travel.
So, when it was discovered that the glass and ceiling were gone,
there was a commotion among the young wizards on the train.
But after freezing for a while...
they all went back to find clothes.
...
"What? You mean that before enrollment, students should have memorized at least half of the books from Flourish and Blotts?"
"And be proficient in advanced spells like the Patronus Charm?"
After hearing Ron's words, the twins simultaneously gasped in surprise.
They looked at each other, and both saw the excitement in each other's eyes.
This was a genius idea for a prank!
"George, Fred, are you gasping? So, is this a lie?"
Noticing their expressions, Ron felt like he had just narrowly escaped disaster.
"Oh, no, of course not!"
George shook his head seriously.
"I thought you knew!"
"Really? Didn't Mom give you any preschool education?"
The trio turned pale.
"Then what about your Sorting test?" Fred played along with a look of surprise.
"Sorting test?"
"Of course! Didn't you know? Hogwarts is the greatest magic school!"
"How could a school like this just accept any random student?"
"You know, even in the magical world, there are plenty of slackers!"
"So… can I ask what's on the Sorting test?"
Hermione felt like she was about to faint.
"Oh, don't worry, it's not too difficult. Usually, no one dies." George shrugged.
"Correction, George, three students who hadn't even enrolled yet died during last year's test."
"But that was one of the easier ones!"
"The year before, new students had to face a pack of twenty werewolves in the Forbidden Forest, and a third of them died."
"No, the year we enrolled wasn't easy either. Students had to fight a troll in the arena, and seven or eight young wizards died."
As the twins continued their back-and-forth discussion, the three young ones' legs grew weaker...
Is this really Hogwarts?
It sounds more like the Roman Colosseum!
This isn't just about losing face—it's about losing your life!
"Maybe we should ask someone else!" Ron suggested, his face pale.
"Come with me, I know a few older students..."
Malfoy, for now, set aside the long-standing feud between the Malfoy and Weasley families.
Survival was the priority!
A moment later...
The trio emerged from a compartment of several fifth-year Slytherins,
their faces filled with despair.
As fifth-year students, these Slytherins "knew" even more than George and Fred.
They detailed each year's Hogwarts entrance exam from the past twenty years.
For instance, retrieving a coin hidden in a nest of thousands of Acromantulas.
Or dueling with a dragon in a confined space.
Or surviving a Dementor's Kiss to gain admission!
"Hi, how are you? I'm Flour John, are you freshmen too?"
Just as they were about to return to their compartment, a young wizard they didn't know greeted them warmly.
There were many young wizards who wanted to make friends before the school year started.
Most people, except for a few pure-blood enthusiasts, would respond warmly.
But this time…
"Can you defeat a dragon?"
"Can you wrestle a troll?"
"Can you sneak alone into the lair of Acromantulas?"
Hermione's three questions left Flour John dumbfounded.
He was also a young wizard from a wizarding family...
But even adult wizards couldn't do these things, right?
"Well, it seems you haven't had any preschool education either."
"Good luck on the upcoming Sorting test," Hermione said with a look of pity.
"I mean, I hope you survive."
With that, the trio walked away, looking defeated.
...
"By Merlin, I need to find someone to ask about this," Flour gulped.
Soon, the topic of the freshman exam spread throughout the Hogwarts Express.
The new students immediately sought out upperclassmen they knew to confirm the rumors.
Every upperclassman who heard the question had the same reaction.
First, surprise, then excitement...
And finally, they would pretend to be shocked and say things like, "Surely no one would be unable to do that."
Scaring new students is a yearly tradition at Hogwarts.
Even the parents won't tell their children the specific details of the Sorting.
But in past years, they would just make up stories about some exam or something to scare the weak students.
This year, however, was way more fun!
These scenarios are beyond anything a normal person could imagine.
First-year students were trembling in fear.
Many upperclassmen enthusiastically began helping their junior students analyze the most likely contents of this year's Sorting test.
Like the school organizing freshmen to use a Portkey to go to Nurmengard and duel Grindelwald one by one.
Or having a duel with Dumbledore.
Even Voldemort didn't escape!
According to these upperclassmen, Voldemort was imprisoned deep in Hogwarts Castle, waiting to be released to test new students one day.
Supposedly, if he killed a hundred freshmen, Dumbledore would set him free, or so they said.
The rumors were detailed, and there were even "witnesses" who swore they had seen it.
The entire Hogwarts was plunged into a sea of despair and joy.
