The Ark soared gracefully through the atmosphere of Vyndra, leaving the devastated but victorious city behind as it ascended toward space. Ethan sat in the captain's chair, his gaze fixed on the fading outline of the planet. Vyndra had been saved, but the echoes of battle still weighed heavily on him. Prella, Vala, and Nova were silent as they took their seats, each lost in their own thoughts about the mission they had just completed.

"I'll never get used to that," Vala murmured, her fingers drumming lightly on her bow as she stared out of the viewport. The once-glorious city of Vyndra had been reduced to rubble, but at least they had prevented total annihilation. "One minute we're knee-deep in enemies, and the next we're the heroes of the day."
