I was gripped with fear as I trembled at the thought that the man I once called "father," the one I had barely escaped from, was here once again. He was back, and it was clear he intended to control me all over again, forcing me to do his bidding. The very idea of it made my skin crawl.

This man was the biggest reason for it if my relationship with Evander was in ruins, And now, he was trying to use me to get close to Evander again, manipulating me as a way to claw his way back into Evander's life. But why? What more could he possibly want?

As far as I knew, Evander still had business connections with him. What else did this man need from him? Why couldn't he just let me, let us, go?
