Rubio made his decision, in a long fight the chances of his rival falling by KO were much higher, but with the damage he had accumulated, anything beyond the second round could be a surprise, if he wanted to take advantage of the opportunity he had to go for it at the beginning of the fight. It was not very different from what he had thought to break his rival's rhythm, harass him throughout the ring and not give him the opportunity to set his pace with long combinations that would harm him in the count.

In those previous seconds Mouse had one main concern, Rubio had shown that he knew how to give strong and forceful kicks, he could protect himself from the punches by dodging and adapting his guard so that the blows to the body would not weaken him, but unlike most of his previous rivals Rubio threw strong mixed combinations with punches and feet.
