Amara had been on the verge of pure bliss. Elara was nestled comfortably against her side on the couch, their morning laziness slowly giving way to something more intense. Amara's heart had started that annoying thumping thing, loud enough that she was sure Elara could hear it.

They had officially been a couple for only a day, but it felt like things had shifted in ways Amara still couldn't fully grasp. Yesterday, they had confessed to each other, kissed, and everything since then had felt… new. Like a fragile, shiny thing she wanted to protect but also hold tightly.

Elara turned to look at her, a soft smile playing on her lips, eyes sparkling with that mischief that drove Amara insane. And not in the bad way. In the I-can't-think-straight-when-you-look-at-me-like-that way.
