“And take care of Sofia for me, Hayden,” he continued talking even though breathing was hard for him.

“One more thing…” he gasped for breath before continuing, “Don't be too cold toward your mate.”

Then he coughed out a mouthful of blood, and I hurriedly clasped his hand with mine.
