Once everyone left the room, leaving the Professor and her two new favourite students alone, Professor McGonagall spoke to the two with stars in her eyes.
"I have to say this once again, that was wonderful you two. I have a proposal for you, only if you'd like to hear me out."
Loki and Hermione looked at each other and after seeing neither of them could guess what was to come they looked at Professor McGonagall and nodded.
"I was wondering if you could possibly perform the play once again."
"...once again? Is there a particular audience you have in mind professor?" Loki asked a little confused.
"Yes, yes, I do have an audience in mind, but that is not who you'll be performing for."
"....?" Both Hermione and Loki were now confused.
"I would love for the two of you to perform in front of the entire school sometime in the coming days during dinner at the Great Hall."
Loki and Hermione's eyes widened at the idea.
"Ser- seriously professor?" Loki asked fumbling his words from the shock.
"Yes. I think your play deserves to be critically acclaimed and I'm sure more people deserve to see something as beautiful as what you've accomplished here."
Loki and Hermione turned into goldfishes as they repeatedly opened and closed their mouths but excitement soon took over as they happily nodded and almost jumped in excitement.
"Thank you, professor! It'd be an honour for us to be able to do something like this for the school!"
"Good. I will talk to the other professors and Headmaster Dumbledore to help you find the right time." A rare thin smile showed up on McGonagall's face.
Hermione and Loki thanked her once again before they turned to leave the classroom, it was only when they were at the door that Loki remembered he had to talk about something with Professor McGonagall.
But given how excited everyone currently was he decided not to talk about his 'problem' right now.
"Didn't I tell you we'd be fine earlier?" Hermione said as she walked alongside Loki with a skip in her step.
"Yeah, yeah, as if you could know beforehand anyway. What if we made a mistake? What if we failed to perform?"
"Arghhh!! Stop worrying now. We're done with it already, let it go!" Hermione pleaded with a smile as she punched Loki's shoulder lightly.
"Ha~! Fine. But we still need to practice for our performance in front of the school."
"Yeah! I still can't believe that Professor McGonagall gave us such an opportunity."
Eventually coming to the split in the corridor where they had to part because they had different classes, Loki looked at Hermione and with a smile said, "You did fantastic in there Mione." before walking into the right corridor.
"You too!" Hermione called back from behind before she vanished into her own corridor.
Loki had Herbology with Ravelclaw for two hours before it was lunch where all he could see was people gossiping about their play by pointing at him and Hermione.
Loki was surprised that not a lot of people came to talk to him about it since many at the Gryffindor table spoke to Hermione about it.
But Hermione surprised Loki by quickly finishing her meal and rushing to her classes.
'Ha! She's annoyed by all the people talking about it. Well, I should go to my classes too before the students decide they can break the ice and talk to a Slytherin about it.'
Several people at the Slytherin table were already threatening to talk to Loki but were held back by Dacro's malicious glare and frown pointed in Loki's direction.
No one wanted to face the wrath or more appropriately deal with the tantrum that would come from angering Draco Malfoy.
Eventually, Loki got up and left for his first elective class of the year, Ancient Runes, taught by Professor Bathsheda Babbling.
Entering the classroom Loki found himself sitting behind Daphne who appeared to be a little excited for the class.
"The play was good." Daphne said in a neutral tone causing Loki to pause in his actions and smile before he replied, "Yeah, I liked it too."
But as Daphne was about to say something more to him a bushy-haired girl appeared at the door of the classroom wearing a smile, and as soon as she met Loki's eyes her smile grew a little stiff.
'Over here!' Loki mouthed patting the free seat beside himself which Hermione reluctantly listened to and arrived at.
"So you decided to come to this class instead of Divination? Nice choice." Loki said with a smile causing Hermione's face to flush a little as she awkwardly nodded.
But Professor Babbling then entered the classroom and the class quietned.
But Loki quietened not because of her aura which closely resembled Professor Snape's but because his instincts immediately picked up on the several high-priced items that were strewn about all over her body.
"Hello, students. I am Professor Bathsheda Babbling, your Ancient Runes teacher for the foreseeable future. I will teach you the art of enchanting using Ancient Runes to create things that you would have never thought possible before."
"My goal from this class is to give you a strong foundation that will help you build your own ideas on top."
"And for this, I will hold you to a very high standard since magical experimentation is extremely dangerous yet very rewarding. Ancient runes are the one part of magic that you can safely experiment with and so I shall do my best to teach you its rules."
"By the end of class, you will have your very own flying broom that you would have enchanted using the process of inscribing runes onto broom handles."
"Of course, the brooms you will prepare will not be the best out there, but they should also not be the worst."
"I hope you pay attention in class because while rewarding, the process of learning about Ancient Runes is also going to be a test of your concentration and focus."
"Even simple and small mistakes can often lead to disastrous results that might lead to serious injuries that will require you to spend a night in the Hospital Wing regrowing your appendages. So I hope you will do your best and pay attention."
With that short introduction to Ancient Runes, the class began in earnest as Professor Babbling taught students about the simplest of runes that they could easily recognise, the circular rune.
"We will begin with our very first project. By the end of today's class, you must make your very own torchlight. For bonus points to your respective house, I want you to figure out how you will change the colours of the light."
Chalk pieces immediately began to scribble on the blackboard, drawing the required runes, and the required steps while with a wave of her wand Professor Babbling sent several thin metal plates towards all the students who became excited to try their hands at runic magic.
'A torchlight?'
'Maybe I can make it a disco ball?'
'Or what if I make it a shadow caster instead?'
'Hehe~ what if I use it to steal the glow of other students' torches? Wouldn't that leave them puzzled about what's wrong with their runes…?'
Daphne suddenly felt like something was wrong with her luck today.
'Why do I feel like someone's out to get me?'
