Bab 16: CHAPTER 16
Kawashima a 2nd string main pitcher is the one that was assigned to pitch to Jiro. The senior player felt tremendous pressure just from the figure of Jiro on the batters box.
'Hahah he's a pitcher right?' the senior can't help but question in his mind. He resolve himself and started his pitching motion ready to throw the ball and because of the tremendous pressure he's feeling from Jiro he unknowingly use his 100% pitching the ball completely forgotten the instructions given by the coach. When he finally releases the ball from his hand he thought 'Ahh I unconsciously use full power'
JIRO's POV
I watched as my senpai do his pitching motion and finally releasing the ball from his hand. My eyes lit up upon seeing the ball that was thrown I don't know what happened but the pitch is obviously much stronger than what was being thrown to others.
Not that I'm complaining though, I like it this way. It's so much more satisfying blasting out a full power pitch of someone than a half assed pitch.
'Here it is' I said to myself as I watch the ball nearing to me. I clenched my bat tightly awaiting the perfect timing to swing it.
*SWISSHHHHHHH
The sound of the air breaking apart from the swing of my bat.
*DONGGGGGG
A loud sound reverberated the place as I hit the ball dead center with my full power. I just stood there smiling as I watched the ball I've hit travel at a terrifying speed over the fence of our field.
THIRD PERSON'S POV
Everyone on the place who just saw what happened stood at their place stunned while there eyes is on the boy that just hit the ball smiling on the batters box.
"Hahah he's supposed to be a pitcher right?" Someone blurted out on the field still can't believe what he just saw.
"What kind of strength is this? He's a monster both in pitching and batting" Kuramochi in sidelines said after seeing another brilliant display of skill of his kohai
"That swing speed is downright terrifying it's almost on par with your swinging speed right tetsu?" Ryunosuke said with a smile on his asking his friend Yuki Tetsuya beside him
"Mmm but it's not just the speed of his bat, The power from that swing is on a whole other level. He's using wooden bat and just sent the ball over the fence" Yuki stated pointing out the fact that Jiro is using a wooden bat at the moment and when the others realize that they miss that important detail because of the swing they've witness they stood frozen in place looking at their monstrous kohai
'I need to work harder' Yuki thought after seeing what just Jiro did realising a powerful aura outside his body stunning his friends
"Damn you pretty boy! Don't show off or I'll kick your butt!" Isashiki shouted at the top of his lungs so everyone heard him loud and clear
'He's handsome, both a monster on mound and batters box. Damn is God playing favourites?' Isashiki thought inside
Jiro just looked at his roommate embarrassed at what his senpai just said so he just choose to completely ignore him since he has five more chances at bat.
Kawashima just stood there at his place looking at the first year who just sent his full power pitch over the fence just now already adjusting himself on the left batters box as if he just did nothing.
'This, This guy!' Kawashima can't form a proper sentence at the moment looking at Jiro with disbelief on his eyes.
Coach kataoka just stood at the sidelines watching everything that unfolds on the field
'Good' he thought as he saw Jiro's action ready to hit again on the batters box.
"Continue" he instructed which pretty much woken up everyone from their daze there is still a lot of talk around but the batting test continued as the senior pitcher is already doing his pitching motion

The same loud sound reverberated around the field a couple more times as Jiro continued hitting home run after one another.
Everyone is pretty much in disbelief as they saw the ball flies over the fences every time Jiro make contact with the ball showcasing his unbelievable strength and swing speed.
"He's a complete monster huh?" Miyuki said to himself with a smile on his face. 'Monster-kun is going to give Mei a run for his money hehehe' the catcher thought to himself a creepy smile and laugh managed to escape to his face on which Kuramochi happened to see
"Dude remove that expression on your face you're creepy!"
"Hahaha I can't help it man! Just think about the reaction of Narumiya when he sees our monster over there" Miyuki said looking at Jiro's retreating figure from the batters box going back his way with his fellow Freshman group now
"Ohh" they said simultaneously when the other regulars also heard what Miyuki said they all just laughed creepily scaring out the nearby first years.
"Hehehe I can't wait to see Narumiya face seeing monster-kun" Miyuki said
"Yhahaha those Inashiro dudes would be so shocked" Kuramochi said also laughing
"we'll beat their asses so bad this time for our revenge hahaha" Isashiki said laughing loudly
"I'm getting excited" Ryunosuke said while smiling looking angelic outside but those that know him shivered at the sight
"Ugahh heheh!" Masuko joined the four
Yuki Tetsuya just looked at his teammates with a serious expression on his face 'Do I have to asked coach to send them to a mental hospital?' he thought to himself
JIRO's POV
As I'm done with my turn I look at my senpai who pitched the balls for me
"Thank you senpai!" I said to him with a genuine smile on my face while slightly bowing. I am grateful to him for pitching me those full power pitches during my turn.
His eyes is hollow after I've finished my turn but when he heard me thanking him seriously I could see the light on his eyes coming back. 'Good' I thought to myself.
"I won't let you hit it easily next time brat!" He said to me smiling now again
"Hahah I would hit it again next time senpai!" I retort back smiling. When I confirmed that everything is good now I made my way back to my fellow first years as coach kataoka continued reading names for the next batch
When I got back I received praises from my fellow first years
"Man you're really something else!"
"It's a good thing we're on the same team!"
"You bet right! We're still in our first year and Tsubayoshi is this good already can't imagine what he'll be like in the future"
I just smiled at him and go back to Haruichi side who congratulated me
"Congrats Jiro-kun, you're a monster at batting too" the boy said shyly to me
"Thanks! You're good too Haruichi and you know that hehe"
He just turned as red as tomato once again because I've complimented him.
"Want to join me in my daily practice later Haruichi? I'll show you my secret to bat like that later hehe" I said to the shy boy enticing him. I know Haruichi got talent when it comes to hitting the ball as I've observed so far and with my guidance I could help him improve his swing power which would further improve his performance on the field.
"Can I Jiro? He asked me on which I just nod at him.
I appreciate talent when I see one so I'm dead set on my plan of guiding this shy boy in front of me.
