Lucy didn't know how many times she frequently went back to having consciousness and letting the darkness take her. And when she finally had the will to wake up, Vanessa was no longer beside her.

While awake, she tried to gather her thoughts despite the fog in her mind.

But every time she closed her eyes, the thought of what could have been if her babies were still alive haunted her, and it never fails to break her heart into shards.

Life was never easy for her. When Lucy was ten, her father abandoned them and never returned, leaving her and her mother to fend for themselves. Her mother, who was just in her middle twenties, and could have started a new life without her daughter, stayed behind. The two of them worked hand in hand to fight against the odds of living longer in this world.

Sadly, her mother was never destined for a long life.
