Bab 53: Portals are scary

The world seemed still for a moment, and then everything seemed alive.

Rose was not an idiot, so she understood that the portal captured her here to determine if she was a threat or not. And if she was proven a threat, she would die fighting here.

What a mess of things!

Rose moved forward to see if she could find some way out of here. Generally, these things were illusions imposed on a trial site.

Rose had heard of them. These were used in the past to test students. But now, they were just serving as a protection mechanism in all kinds of magical communities. Like the one with the Moon Charmers.

She had no connection with Moon Charmers, so she had to think of a way to get out. Maybe something happened that made the Moon Charmers wary of outsiders. Anyway, she believed that the illusion wouldn't harm her. Because anyone else could stray in. and they couldn't be hurt just because of their bad luck.
