"Mrs. Zhou, this way, please."

Xia Lu followed the waiter through a corridor and arrived at the elevator.

"Brother Shaotang?"

There were already several people standing at the entrance of the elevator, and Ye Shaotang was among them.

Xia Lu had no idea what the event was that evening; she had looked around the entrance for quite a while before she came in and discovered nothing.

"Where's Achen?"

"He said he still had some work to finish and told me to come over by myself," Xia Lu replied. In truth, she didn't want to come alone, although many people had met her before, they only knew her as Zhou Mingchen's wife. Without Zhou Mingchen by her side as a business card, she would definitely be thoroughly ignored.

"How could I let you come to such an occasion alone? Let me be your temporary companion." Ye Shaotang extended an arm from his pocket, gesturing to Xia Lu.

Xia Lu looked up at him, "What exactly is tonight's occasion?"

"You'll know once we're up there."
