Bab 3: Austin

Cassie belonged to the prestigious Blake Family and they were very nice people. However, the news of her arranged marriage was too much for her teenage self and as rebellious as she was, she ran away and came to a different country.

She was a prodigy and excelled in everything, but even with that she worked hard for years to make a company that was among the Top 100 company of the Serenie Country.

However, she was still single and had no interest being in a relationship.

Cassie sighed as past memories resurfaced in her mind. The day had not gone good for her so she needed a rest and that's why she was going to the Red Heart Club to see a eye candy.

Skyler was driving at high speed and they soon reached the Red Heart Club. It was a two story building with a big red heart pasted on top and it was as crowed as always. Although it wasn't a top tier club, it was still a decent pick to get drunk and be freaky.

Cassie looked at Skyler and said, "You can go if you want. I'll probably spend some time there."

"It's fine. I'm not trusting you on drinks anymore," Skyler chuckled and replied. "You can have fun and I'll wait here."

Cassie didn't want to trouble but seeing that Skyler was stubborn on her decision, she only resign. She shook her head and mumbled, "I'm surrounded by lunatics."

Skyler smiled and waved her hand at Cassie who had gotten off the car. She straightened her clothes and after waving her hand at Skyler, walked towards the club's entrance.

She also had sunglasses on and was wearing a mask. After all, she came here to relax, not to attract more attention. After she showed her ID to the guards, they easily let her in.

As Cassie stepped into the club, a wave of vibrant energy washed over her. The place was alive with pulsing lights that danced in sync with the deep, rhythmic beats of the music. It was a familiar scene—people gathered in small groups, chatting and laughing, while others were lost in the music, moving to the rhythm on the dance floor.

The scent of expensive perfume mixed with the subtle aroma of alcohol lingered in the air. She made her way through the crowd, nodding politely at a few familiar faces she recognized.

She headed straight for the bar, her usual spot. After all, her reason for coming here wasn't to mix with people.

Unfortunately, the bartender was not the one she wanted so she was a little disappointed. But she still went to the bar and sat down. The bartender asked, looking at her, "The usual?"

She nodded, leaning against the bar as she glanced around. The place was packed tonight, but she didn't mind. As the bartender slid her drink across the counter, she took a sip, savoring the cool liquid as it went down, easing the tension in her shoulders.

It was then her gaze landed on a peculiar sight. At one of the tables that screamed VIP, four beautiful women were sitting together having their party. However, what attracted her was the man serving them.

He was the eye candy she came to see, Austin.

Austin was a young man, probably of same age as her, and had tousled, dark hair that framed his face with an effortless charm. His eyes were intense yet relaxed, giving him a captivating and easygoing look. His strong jawline and confident demeanor added to his allure.

However, Cassie knew that it was all a pretense. In fact, he was a lazy man who was only working because he was broke, completely.

She narrowed her eyes as she sensed a dispute. One of the beautiful women was drunk and was tugging at Austin's sleeves. She was demanding something and Austin clearly didn't want to accept her offer.

'Should I interrupt?' Cassie wondered, taking a sip of her drink. However, then she remembered his personality and decided otherwise, 'He will come up with a way himself.'

"Oh no! Poor man probably gonna lose the job very soon," As Cassie was too focused on Austin, she didn't even realise when the bartender had finished making her second drink and was standing beside her.

He sighed and said, "Rejecting others was fine but now he even rejected Miss Ping, he'll probably lose the job now."

Cassie took note of that but didn't speak. She just observed everything while sipping her drink. The matter on Austin's had escalated and now the drunk women was cursing him something and he was just smiling politely like a professional.

'Tsk!' Cassie clicked her tongue in annoyance and was going to stand up when she found Austin walking back towards the bar. The woman was still screaming but it seemed like Austin was done with her.

He had a sour mood but a smile appeared on his face when he noticed Cassie. He waved at her and soon reached the bar. He jumped over it and reached the other side and asked, "Anything more, Miss Cassie?"

"Nah, I already have mine," Cassie shook her head pointed at her drink. She then asked, "Anyways, what happened there?"

"Nothing much but I'll probably be losing my job soon," Austin said as he came to sit beside her. He also winked at the bartender who gave a thumbs up to him.

"Let me guess, they're daughters of some influential people here?" Cassie scoffed and asked.

"Yup, that one who was clinging to me is the daughter of the man who owns this club. That's why I'm sure I'm gonna lose my job," Austin sighed and said. "It really is my fault for being so handsome."

'This Narcissist...' Cassie gave a blank look to Austin but couldn't even deny his words. He really was too handsome for his own good. Still, why would she admit it?

"Do you need my help? In reducing your handsomeness I mean," Cassie smiled and asked.

Austin looked at her weirdly and placed his seat a little distance away "No thanks, I love my face a lot. You devil will ruin it all. Anyways, why are you here? Didn't you come only on Wednesday? Today is Sunday."

"Something happened and I'll probably be busy for sometime so I thought of seeing you," Cassie was getting a headache just thinking about the things she would need to handle in upcoming days and that's why she had came here.

Three weeks ago, she had stumbled into this club and found Austin, who was a newbie here. Cassie was like everyone else and she liked beautiful things and people. However, that wasn't what made them friends.

It was his personality.
