LET THE CHAPTER BEGIN

"So, are you gonna teach us cool ninjutsu or what?" Kaito inquired as soon as they were back on the central platform.
It wasn't just the training zone they could traverse. The children could even walk on water for the purpose of traveling to other countries or lands connected by water.
They had finished training ten days ago, but they continued training to refine their entire walk to look elegant and relaxed.
Aki was very satisfied with their progress, Kaito was still a little rough compared to the other two, but he still looked relaxed while walking.
You could say, it was the hardest among the group, for him to walk in an elegant way with his reckless personality. He was relaxed walking in his own way.
"Get ready" Aki smiled without answering and made a tiger hand sign dispelling his jutsu.
The cracks appeared on the platform as without chakra holding it together disappeared and ocean water did its work.
The floating pieces of ice would soon melt and once again become part of the wide ocean. Aki along with his teammates ran back to the top of 3rd peak at full speed.
"Let's go grab a bite," Kaito said and others nodded. The group walked to the restaurant at these words, target was the same place they had been frequenting for the last ten days.
As they entered the restaurant, the familiar warmth and smell of sizzling food greeted them. The group settled at their usual table, the one by the window.
"Alright, what's everyone having?" Aki asked, already glancing at the menu, knowing full well what he'd pick.
"I'm definitely ordering a big steak for all of us," Kaito said with enthusiasm. "But I'll also take the ramen. Can't go wrong with two meals after all that running."
Sayuri raised an eyebrow at Kaito's appetite but smirked. "I'll still stick with Takoyaki. I'll just take the smallest piece of steak."
Ryuu calmly leaned back in his chair. "Dango for me," he said, his preference for something sweet never changing.
Aki smiled as the server approached. "Ramen for me," he said, feeling nostalgic about the time he spent with Naruto. "And add the biggest steak you've got to share."
The server nodded, jotting down the mix of orders before disappearing into the kitchen.
Kaito, practically bouncing in his seat, grinned. "A giant steak and ramen for me. Can't wait."
Sayuri shook her head, a soft smile playing on her lips. "You're going to eat more than the rest of us combined."
"Hey, I earned it!" Kaito shot back, leaning forward. "Besides, it's not like anyone's forcing you to take a big piece of steak. You can stick with your little takoyaki if you want."
"Smallest piece, remember?" Sayuri reminded him, though her eyes softened at Kaito's excitement.
Aki chuckled. "It's true, Kaito. You've been working hard, but don't overdo it."
As they waited, they settled into their usual banter, enjoying the moment. Kaito was still buzzing with energy, while Sayuri and Ryuu remained composed, albeit slightly amused by Kaito's endless enthusiasm.
Before long, the food arrived, and the server placed the steaming dishes in front of them.
Aki and Kaito's ramen, Sayuri's takoyaki, Ryuu's dango, and of course, the enormous steak at the center of the table, sizzling hot and ready to be shared.
Kaito wasted no time. He immediately grabbed a chunk of steak, but not before eyeing his own ramen order like it was a personal challenge. "This is going to be great," he declared, already tearing into the meat.
Aki calmly dug into his ramen, savoring the rich broth and soft noodles. "You're really doubling down, Kaito," Aki said with a grin between bites. "Let's see if you can handle all that."
"I've got this," Kaito said, his mouth half-full of steak. "Steak, ramen—best combo ever."
Sayuri took the smallest piece of steak, just as she had promised, delicately slicing it before popping it into her mouth. "Perfectly cooked," she commented, though she seemed more focused on her takoyaki.
Ryuu balanced his dango while taking a modest piece of steak. His eyes flicked to Kaito, amused by the sheer enthusiasm. "You're going to regret this later," he muttered, half to himself.
"Never," Kaito replied, already moving to his ramen.
The others enjoyed their meals at a more relaxed pace. Aki focused on his ramen. Sayuri's takoyaki provided the lightness she was craving, while Ryuu's dango kept him content with its sweetness.
For a while, the only sounds were those of satisfied chewing and the clatter of chopsticks and forks.
"You know," Kaito said between bites, "it's kinda nice to have this routine. Training hard, then coming here to stuff our faces."
Aki nodded, swallowing a mouthful of ramen. "Yeah," he said, smiling. "It's the little things like this that make it all worth it."
Aki smirked at the three and continued with a slight pause, "So, who's up for a mission?"
"DAMN RIGHT" Kaito shouted back, "about time we did something like that. I was totally getting bored out of my mind with non-stop training"
Sayuri added, "Indeed, it's about time." Ryuu chose to remain silent unwilling to add even a word, he was already thinking of ways for self-improvement and one day surpassing Aki.
"Alright then, follow me," Aki started walking forward and took them along to the Raikage office.
Once they reached their destination, Aki went ahead and told the Anbu guarding the door his purpose. It took 10 minutes of wait before Raikage's booming voice came from within.
"Come in"
Aki stopped chatting with his teammates, brought them along him and directly asked Ay. "Yo, Dad I need a mission for my genin. They're ready for their first adventure."
Ay was sitting comfortably on his sofa behind a table. He looked up and smiled at the children. "How many times should I tell you that you should call me Raikage-sama when we're in the office."
"Got it, Rai. Ka. Gay. sama" Aki answered in a funny tone, "So, you got a mission?"
Ay looked at the three kids behind Aki with shining eyes and ordered an ANBU operative. "Bring me the mission scrolls."
ANBU appeared and disappeared and after a little while there were four scrolls placed at Ay's table.
Ay called out to Aki, "Come pick up whichever you like"
"Aren't you showing a bit too much favoritism?" Aki squinted at Ay, but still checked the scrolls.
There was one C-Rank mission and three D-Rank missions available. Aki picked up the C-rank scroll and went through the contents.
"Same old mission," Aki commented reminiscing about the time when he accepted the same mission. The mission that left him with lasting trauma.
'Shall we see how these kids handle it? I'll share the details first so they can be mentally ready, but first, let me read D-Ranks too.'
With that in mind he picked up the other three scrolls and went through them. These looked pretty normal.
Aki placed all scrolls back on the table and went back to the genin, "We're picking one of the missions from the ones I will explain, no excuses got it?"
"Gotcha now explain," Kaito said impatiently while Ryuu's eyes mirrored the same intention.
"First is a D-Rank mission about helping an old man find his missing dog. The second is to help another old lady, but in this case with laundry. The third is to read a book from a store and leave a review."
Aki first explained the D-Rank missions, which disappointed and shocked the three. 'Even these can be considered a ninja mission?' all of them thought at the same time.
"Final scroll is a C-Rank, the mission is to go to the village's jail and execute a prisoner. This is a mission usually reserved for genin.
So, they can get used to killing and not get killed on a dangerous mission outside the village because of a moment's hesitation."
'If someone explained and not made me kill on the spot, I might have never acquired my trauma… tsk.'
Aki was totally treating Raikage's big office as part of his home and explained each mission to the kids without leaving the premises.
The students might have thought about it if it was a hard choice but, "Let's do the C-Rank one," Kaito exclaimed as it was the only one that looked like a ninja mission to him.
"It seems to be the only choice," Sayuri added.
Ryuu broke his silent routine, adding a comment of his own, "Agreed."
"Damn, you guys didn't even stop to consider it" Aki dropped his jaw in shock at the lightning-fast reply and the choice made by the trio, "Let's go then"
Aki picked up the C-Rank scroll and guided them to the prison. The ANBU at the gate opened the gate for them after Aki showed him the scroll.
The four children walked the long creepy corridors of the prison till they reached the first cell. "Ryuu, you go first" Aki immediately called out the most skilled child out of the three.
Door of the prison opened and they saw a prisoner bound to the wall using cuffs and chains. It was a young man in his 40s with blond hair and predatory eyes.
He rushed at the four as soon as the door was opened, but could not reach the four at all, he clawed at them with his hands but it stopped inches away from Aki's face.
The man was firmly held in place by the chains. Ryuu without waiting for Aki to say anything moved swiftly and ended his life by hitting the man in from the left side.
"That was swift, lets go to the next room" Aki's brow twitched as he saw how easily Ryuu had done this as if he had killed before.
"Kaito, you do the second one"
As they reached the second room and unlocked the door with the help of on-duty ANBU. The four entered the room.
"Watch me," Kaito said as they entered. Inside they saw a man with soulless eyes sitting bound to a chair indicating he had just gone through the interrogation.
Kaito ended the man by slitting his throat without the need for any interaction, even though he would usually not stop talking. Kaito smirked at the group as if showing off.
Next one to kill a target was Sayuri, they similarly reached another door and this time once again it was a man bound to the wall, but without the madness of the first one.
'I simply cannot fail not in front of him.' Sayuri thought to herself as her face turned red after a quick glance at Aki. She also wanted to show off, but only to Aki. She hid her secret crush for a long time.
Sayuri drew her katana and stabbed it directly into his heart. Of course, the man tried to dodge, but as someone with their chakra completely suppressed, he wasn't fast enough.
'So cool,' Aki exclaimed in his mind and the process left him shocked senseless at their casualness about killing someone. 'Shouldn't it still be a little bit hard?'
"I guess that's a mission well done." Aki commented on their success while feeling down about his own time, "Let's go back and get another mission, we ended it a little too fast."
