Alex watched Maze bounce out of the room with a smile on his face.

“I’ve never had siblings, but now I miss not having one.” He gave me a sheepish smile. “Maybe we should make sure that our kids don’t feel alone, so we should have many.”

My heart literally threatened to burst out of my chest. “You’re not mad?”

“Mad?” Alex’s smile instantly turned into a glare. “I’m ready to throw you into the dungeons and throw away the keys so you don’t ever think about doing stupid things ever again.”

He closed and locked the door before he came to sit at the foot of the bed, keeping a safe distance from me. I missed his touch…I missed not having him near me; especially when he was purposely shutting off the mating bond from his side. I wasn’t even aware he could do that.
