— My Lord, it's time, — Erin's calm voice broke the silence, though I could hear the underlying tension in her tone.

— Yeah, let's go.

Erin followed slightly behind me, maintaining the measured distance expected of a bodyguard. We exited the hall of Sibris' central stadium and walked through its wide corridors, stepping out onto the viewing platforms.

This time was different. Unlike past tournaments, where I had sat among the spectators, watching cadets battle, I was now one of the participants. Special seating had been arranged for us—a designated box that provided a perfect view of the arena below.

Reaching our section, we took our seats. I surveyed the gathered participants.
