Beverly Hills, Xu Can's Mansion
Taylor Swift sits on the couch, deep in thought.
"What's up, T-Swizzle?" Xu Can asks, using the affectionate nickname he has for her. Many couples enjoy intimate moments after officially dating, and Xu Can and Swift are no exception.
"Should I get you a trophy cabinet? Your little golden man is just sitting on the coffee table like this." Swift pouts cutely.
The Oscar trophy is placed casually on the table, next to some leftover pizza. To anyone else, it might look like a mere decoration.
"It's just a trophy, not that valuable," Swift says.
"No," Xu Can replies.
Taylor has taken on more of a hostess role lately, wanting to decorate the place. The minimalist sci-fi style of her mansion is stylish but lacks warmth.
She's already planning new additions: a $300,000 Persian handmade carpet under the coffee table, an antique vase in the corner to add an oriental touch Xu Can likes, priced at over $1 million, and a $10 million Peter Doig painting for the wall.
Xu Can sips his coffee while handling emails, listening to Swift excitedly describe her decorating plans.
"Okay, you're the hostess, so you can do whatever you want… How about moving in?" Xu Can suddenly suggests.
He wants to see Swift more often, to go out for dinner together, and eventually, to spend more intimate time together. Seeing the blonde sleeping beauty in his arms every day would make him very happy.
Swift is visibly moved but a bit hesitant.
"I think so too, but…"
She's never lived with someone before. The idea of staying here long-term feels different from just visiting.
Xu Can senses her hesitation, pulls her close, and kisses her.
"It's okay, you can move in whenever you're ready."
"Um." Taylor lies contentedly against Xu Can's chest. His gentleness and consideration touch her deeply.
Xu Can also wonders what would happen if Emma wants to live here as well. The thought of that scene could be explosive. He had been a bit impulsive but managed to adjust quickly.
After breakfast, their personal makeup artists prepare them for the Grammy Awards ceremony. Xu Can promised to accompany Swift, and when the golden couple steps onto the red carpet, the media frenzy is immediate. They're surrounded by reporters from all sides.
Even Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Eminem, and other celebrities are overshadowed. Justin Timberlake and Rihanna are left confused.
"Who's over there?"
"It seems to be Taylor Swift and Xu Can."
"No wonder… here comes our Oscar winner," Rihanna realizes.
Winning the Oscar for Best Actor as the Joker has significantly raised Xu Can's profile in North America, even surpassing other Oscar winners like Daniel Day-Lewis.
Swift's Grammy Awards success with her album Fearless is a notable achievement. She wins Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year, defeating strong contenders like Lady Gaga and Beyoncé.
Her excitement is palpable as she stands up, hugs Xu Can, and kisses him deeply in front of the audience and cameras.
"I'm most grateful to Xu Can, who believed in me and created the perfect creative environment for me. Without him, this album might not exist…"
Xu Can smiles and applauds, though his "spider sense" tells him trouble might be brewing.
Back on the set of La La Land, Emma Stone approaches Xu Can, clearly jealous.
"You said you accompanied Taylor to the Grammys as a friend. What was that kiss about?"
"She was excited. Is it normal for friends to kiss?"
"Oh, really?" Emma, growing angrier, punches him lightly. "Normal my ass!"
"Hey, watch your language!" Xu Can pinches her wrist.
"You jerk!"
Despite the playful argument, Xu Can, who keeps in shape, is unfazed. When Emma gets tired of hitting him, he hugs her.
"Baby, you know what I mean."
"Let's just get back to work," Emma sighs, resigned but still fond of him.
Emma's acting skills have improved significantly under Xu Can's training, reaching a level comparable to Meryl Streep. Their on-screen chemistry remains strong, even amidst personal tensions.
Scenes that were expected to take months to complete are finished in one.
Meanwhile, the crew of Spider-Man 2 is starting to form. With Xu Can's busy schedule, director Mark Webb has begun filming supporting roles. Actors like James Franco, JK Simmons, and Alfred Molina, who plays Doctor Octopus, have joined.
The filming of Spider-Man 2 progresses quickly, and Sony Chairman Howard Stringer, eager for a summer release, pushes for a faster post-production process.
"Can we speed up the process to meet the summer schedule?" he inquires.
"Boss, we might need external assistance for post-production."
"Who do you suggest?"
"Xu Can's Galaxy Digital. They could handle outsourcing tasks and cut the cycle by half."
"Perfect, get them involved immediately!"
The completion of La La Land means Xu Can and Emma can focus fully on Spider-Man 2. The set welcomes them warmly as they return for group scenes.
As rumors of a "shocking kiss" between Swift and Xu Can circulate, Emma Stone, feeling left out, contemplates making an official announcement about her relationship with Xu Can.
Under Xu Can's advice, Emma decides to wait for the hype to die down before making any public declarations.
"I suspect you're just pretending to be real! You're obviously in love!" Emma says.
"You're my girlfriend, Taylor is just a partner."
Emma demands Swift's phone number for clarification. Xu Can hands it over without hesitation.
Emma is apprehensive but dials Swift's number. Swift, delighted to hear from Xu Can, picks up her guitar and serenades him with a new song.
The song, "Sparks Fly," is a country-pop tune that Swift wrote for Xu Can. Her sweet voice and heartfelt lyrics leave Xu Can more enamored than ever.
Swift's personal songs for him, like "Fearless" and "Love Story," have always been inspired by him, as she's mentioned in interviews.
After their conversation, Xu Can returns to the set, where Emma Stone's jealousy is palpable but restrained.
During a scene from Spider-Man 2, Emma and Xu Can's on-screen chemistry is electric. Their performance, full of emotional depth, impresses even the director.
"Bravo!" Mark Webb exclaims. "Your performance is more touching than any romance movie."
Emma, still feeling conflicted, takes Xu Can aside.
"I want to compete."
"Compete for what?" Xu Can asks, puzzled.
"I want to compete with Taylor."
"Stop, you're already a winner in my eyes."
Emma argues back, "Taylor might be more attractive, but my love for you is just as strong."
Xu Can holds Emma close. "Your figure is just as good, if not better."
Emma blushes, feeling slightly reassured but still playfully scolding Xu Can for his remarks.
