Bab 49: Chapter 49 - Routine Preparations

In the large and mostly deserted briefing room, only the 373 remained. Orfea had just given them a final warning. Evander stood and saluted. The rest of his squad quickly did the same.

"We understand. The mission is more delicate than it appears. We will be prepared for anything."

The commander's hologram flickered out after a nod. The Tactician turned and panned across the faces of the individuals he was responsible for.

All things considered, his leadership had been fairly smooth throughout his tenure. No one under his oversight had been lost so far. He was determined to limit that possibility.

"The most relevant information about the Merzijan Group will be collected and sent to your terminals in a bit. Gear check at 0430. Get some rest."

They filed out in silence with that order. Naia took a queue from her old friend as well as the woman that she spent a day at the gym with. She remained focused, professional, and didn't linger.
