Bab 82: Through the Looking Glass

The cosmic power surged furiously around Avery and Damien as they resurfaced on Blackthorn's campus, confronted by a swarm of Void-possessed students. Just as they prepared for battle, reality appeared to shatter. A blinding, scorching flash exploded between them and their opponents, forcing us all to shield our eyes from the intolerable mild.

As the light faded, a figure stepped through the tear in space-time, sending an electric charge through Avery. She froze and stared at the newcomer, surprised. It evolved into something unique while remaining exclusive. This trade version of Avery was scarred by a jagged scar on her left cheek, and her eyes, steely and haunted, showed depths of pain that Avery should have understood.

"Don't trust your instincts," the opposite Avery said immediately, her voice full of urgency. "In my timeline, the selection you're about to make destroys the whole thing."
