Bab 108: Two Against Two

The battlefield stretched out like a sea of chaos, bodies littered in every direction, and yet, amidst the noise and terror, two figures moved with eerie precision.

Layla and Laya, the twin sisters from the Lehzin Empire, wove through the battlefield like twin phantoms. Each step, each strike, was perfectly coordinated; where one sister moved, the other followed in sync, their twin swords flashing in the torchlight, each cut leaving carnage in its wake.

Layla's blood-stained blade slashed through her opponent's chest, while Laya ducked beneath her sister's arm, delivering a deadly strike to another.

One soldier fell to his knees, clutching at a wound, gasping for breath. Layla knelt down in front of him, her face inches from his. "How does it feel, to be at the mercy of your enemies?" she whispered with a twisted smile.
