Bab 51: BOLD MOVES

I stepped out of Armand Inc., feeling a knot of confusion tightening in my chest. The late afternoon sun was casting long shadows across the pavement, but the warmth did little to dispel the chill of uncertainty that had settled over me. My heels clicked rhythmically on the concrete as I made my way to the car, each step echoing my growing frustration.

What was going on with Armand? He had left for Park City on what seemed like a whim, and of all people, he took Secretary Eli Marks with him. Eli the son of our Nemesis Gregory Marks. What the fuck was going on? I wanted to rush back to the company and ask Kaveesha or Jessel but thought the better of it since I hated gossiping and would rather ask Armand himself. The lack of communication was unsettling, and it made me feel like I was being left out of something crucial.
