I watched as Audrey took a step back, shaking her head as she did.
"I'm sorry," she said, making me frown in confusion.
"Audrey…?"
"I'm sorry," she ran in the other direction, taking me off guard. I looked at her for a second then back at the hotel before following her.
"Audrey, stop." I said, but she didn't. She just kept running, it was as if she wanted to disappear. "Audrey…"
I wrapped my hand around her wrist, stopping her from running away, and she froze. The color drained from her face, forcing me to let her go as I realized that she might be scared that I would end up harming her.
"Audrey, what happened? Why did you…?"
