"Layla, darling, wait here, okay?" Jacquelyn said, placing the girl on the bed. Then she joined Kael in the room where he was standing by the window, staring outside.

"Husband?" Jacquelyn knocked on the door to get his attention. When he turned, she gave him a smile and walked inside. Seeing Kael's hand spread out as if to tell her to come stand beside him, Jacquelyn walked over and stood beside him, allowing Kael to wrap her in his arms.

Kael sniffed her scent and exhaled, then pecked Jacquelyn's head. "How do I want you even more when you're standing beside me?" he asked, moving his chin onto Jacquelyn's head.

"Maybe because I taste good?" Jacquelyn replied, giggling as Kael played with her hair.

Kael paused. "And you know that because?" he asked, moving Jacquelyn back to look at her face.
