Earlier... Before Doom's Awakening.

"Let's go and catch the fake," Kael had said to Ryver before they left for Morville Castle. They arrived at Herschel's tea house. Kael found Chaos sitting on the ground with his knees pulled up to his face. The boy curled himself in a corner, and from the look on his face, it was obvious he had been crying.

Hearing Kael's footsteps, Chaos slowly raised his face. His eyes brimmed with fresh tears. "Godfather... you came," the boy muttered, crawling towards Kael.

"Do you believe me now? I saw Ballister dying... covered with blood. The person back at the Castle... is not Balli, I swear on my life." His whole body shook violently, but he tried to remain calm.

Kael reached for the boy's hair and patted him gently, his eyes lazily staring at his tired form. "Chaos, as one of my own, you should know that conviction isn't proven with words, but with actions. I believe you."
