"NO?" Ryuu was flabbergasted.
"My rewards first. Then, after all, I shall inject the antidote myself."
Asahi had not fazed one bit despite Ryuu's immense power aura. It was the first time a human had succeeded in his powers, and now he wanted to have the upper hand in the negotiation.
Ryuu snarled and gave in, "Okay then.".
Just then, Asahi could feel being transported, but this time he was back in the living room, and all six members of the association were present. While Asahi was at the farthest distance, Ryuu was next to Mr. Kobayashi. Kenji had been healed and was scowling intensely at Asahi.
"Now, all eyes are on me, The Association of Omyouji. I have an important announcement to make." Ryuu smirked as he walked to the center and stood before all six men.
"Asahi will be the next dragon guardian," he announced.
Terror filled all of their faces. Their brows arched, and especially Kenji's face paled. Mr. Kobayahi instantly stood from his seat, unable to believe those words.
"Is there anything you want to say, Kobayashi?" Ryuu glanced over and stood beside him. All the men in the room held their breaths. It was only the master who could stand along with the god-like Yokai after all.
"Impossible…" Kobayashi fearfully murmured under his breath. It wasn't supposed to happen!
"You need to uphold your words." He slightly raised his volume, which irked Ryuu, while the rest of the members of the association nodded in agreement.
"Do I now? It has been more than a thousand, and with such a lousy descendent." Ryuu raised his hand, and the necklace around Kenji's neck came floating towards his hands.
"We chose your ancestors because of their bravery and their intelligence. It was never guaranteed that it would forever be your clan."
While Ryuu casually stated that, Kenji stood on his feet, trying to get hold of his necklace, yet it continued to slip away from him, and all he was left with was emptiness. The words of the dragon were cutthroat and hurtful. Kenji couldn't stand it anymore as he got on his knees, and tears spilt from his eyes.
"Now, don't cry, silly little child, or should I pull out your leg this time? Oops, if I did this this time, you'd surely die. Ahahha! Sadly, your caring little father, Kobayashi, won't be able to save you. Now, don't be so sad. I can always humble myself and give you an instant death by perhaps throwing you upside down from a tall building."
Ryuu's eyes gleamed in excitement as, with each word, he stepped towards Kenji. The man continued to cry, and right when Ryuu reached Kenji, Kenji lifted his head, and Ryuu simply pressed his hand on his forehead. "Like this," Ryuu whispered and pushed Kenji away.
As if a potato sack had been thrown, Kenji landed on the other side of the wall. His back hit the concrete wall, and a few vases that were on the way had been broken.
"Now then, from next time on, it's Ito who will call out my name." Ryuu gave a menacing smile at Kobayashi, who could barely comprehend what had happened. He gave a nod while sweat dripped off his forehead, and then Ryuu's heels clacked on the vinyl floor as he gave a side hug to Asahi.
All the men could simply watch the events unfold, as they neither had the strength nor the capability to deal with the dragon.
"From today onwards, you are the new guardian. Kobayashi will tell you how it works. Now let's go."
Ryuu had placed the necklace on Asahi's neck, and once the contract was sealed and the ring had accepted the new bloodline, Asahi worded "Lo-se-er" without actually letting out a sound, and at that very moment, Kenji had a sour expression, and thus they got transported to the hidden realm.
That sour expression on Kenji made Asahi feel delightful. He yearned and hoped for Kenji to never find happiness. The way he was so close to death yet got saved by the powers of the mouse yokai... It didn't fit well with him.
Omyouji were like national treasures. Very few people were born who had such high, saturated spiritual energy, enough to summon and chat with God-level yokai. So when his grandfather died in vain, without any support, and since the association didn't care back then, he had hatred buried deep within him.
"Now, boy, calm down." Ryuu placed his hand on Asahi's shoulder, and they reached a new place.
It was a whole new dimension. They stood in a pavilion, surrounded by trees and ponds. The gale of wind brushed past them. The sky had turned dark, and there were six different moons.
"Welcome to the hidden realm; you are the very first human to enter here."
Hello! Moonflower here,
I hope you are liking it so far. The story is pretty slow paced but I want to slolwy bring the point of views of all the characters and make it as fun as possible. My MC isnt an OP one, but he is cunning and clever one.
I hope you will like it and enjoy it as much as I am enjoying myself writing it.
Your gift is the motivation for my creation. Give me more motivation!
