Bab 72: Who's the fire?

As the chief advanced, his massive figure looming over the battleground, the atmosphere changed drastically. Dark energy rippled around him like a living force, crackling in the air as it swirled and twisted, warping the very space around him. 

Adrian could feel the hair on the back of his neck stand on end, a prickling sensation creeping over his skin as the chief made his power known.

"You think this is over?" the chief repeated in a cold and mocking voice. "You haven't even begun to understand what you're up against."

Adrian tightened his grip on his sword, his fiery chains flickering with renewed energy as he positioned himself between Zack and the advancing menace. Standing to his right, Medea surveyed the chief with narrowed eyes, her posture shifting subtly into a ready stance.

Lilith, for once, seemed unusually quiet, watching the events unfold before her with a raised brow and an unreadable expression.
