Bab 98: 98 — Breakfast With Her

"Ah, my. Did you wake up, Your Highness?" an unfamiliar voice said. 

Lucian shifted his gaze towards the person. It was a maid who smiled at him brightly. 

She bowed to him respectfully, keeping the corner of her lips curled. 

"Good morning," she greeted. 

The young man tilted his head to the side, confused by her behavior. Was she smiling at him? He didn't realize it yesterday because he was so preoccupied about matters related to Cynthia that he failed to notice that everyone had been looking at him as if he were not their enemy. It was a complete opposite reaction to the one he was expecting when he decided to come to Eldoria. Even when he visited the country for his wedding, the people were not as kind and heartwarming as they were now. 

How can they be so nice to me when my own country's people hate me? 

Lucian chuckled, a bitter feeling stinging him.
