At the mention of Valerie, Zoey's face fell. This was why she hated Valerie. Her shadow was casted everywhere. Valerie had left the company six years ago, still this old bitch still wanted her to lead the company?!

The room fell silent, with several board members casting discreet glances at Zoey. Her head was down, casting a shadow over her face.

Mr. Thompson felt bad seeing her like that and cleared his throat. He couldn't let her be treated unjustly. "Indeed, Miss Valerie's contributions were significant, however, her actions six years ago had dealt the company a devastating blow."

Mr. Patel's expression turned grave. "Miss Valerie is not fit to lead this company. After what she did, she abandoned the company and disappeared, with no remorse or whatsoever."
