Bab 78: A meeting with Gregory Sinclair

"I hope all is well?" Valerie asked, a hint of trepidation creeping into her voice. Her mind racing with possibilities, she wondered if her true intentions for wanting to join the company had been discovered.

She quickly dismissed the thought, reassuring herself that James's warm demeanor wouldn't be possible if her guise had been blown. Yet, a nagging sense of unease lingered, leaving her with the unsettling feeling that she'd done something wrong.

"Of course…" his voice trailed off, wanting to add, 'if only you'd come with me.'

Valerie nodded, "Alright, please lead the way." And with that, she followed behind James.

Greg had his back to the office, quietly sipping his drink when the door creaked and was pushed open. At once, he knew it was James and Valerie, but still, he didn't turn around.
