Bab 52: Chapter 52: Out as Partners

<p>Mrs. Elizabeth decided to invite me out sooner than I thought she would, and it wasn't for golf... and technically she wasn't the one who offered me the invitation.</p>

<p>Elijah was.</p>

<p>Every year Elizabeth holds a Gala for some of the biggest names around. It's a whole thing and the press goes crazy for it every year.</p>

<p>It is, in a way, a red-carpet event for the upper class and a way to show off their wealth. A way for them to schmooze and bump elbows with each other without the stress of business meetings or work.</p>

<p>A fun evening out, supposedly. It was the whole reason Elijah invited me in the first place. He was still thinking about the night he rescued me from having to go home with my ex-husband and to be honest I was still thinking about it too.</p>

<p>Every time George and I met, it felt like all we did was argue. I thought getting divorced would solve everything, but it seems that it only forced all our problems to the surface.</p>
